Seemed funny at first but then that whole situation turned ugly fast.
 
I'm all for criticizing cops when they abuse their powers, but no reasonable person could possibly believe that was the case here, right??

That part where he yells "I WILL NOT TURN AROUND YOU MOTHER FUCKER!" is much more interesting when you know that it's a police officer (not a security guard) and the man is 40 (not 14).

He was a real cop patrolling a shop in is community.

"(Bibby) did a walkthrough of Wal-Mart and to pick up some cleaning supplies for his patrol car," Bullock said. "While inside, they walk up to the officer and are in his personal space. They are berating him about being in there, on duty. They want his name and badge number. They tell him that he is a traitor and committing treason because he is inside of Wal-Mart and shopping while on duty."
Bullock said officers are encouraged to do "walk-throughs" in local businesses to "create presence and let the owners and customers see them out and about," and officers are allowed to purchase something while at the business.

Yeah, you know I was actually considering law enforcement recently. But I have such little patience I would have tazed him the second he grabbed me.

-the cop getting more and more angry as the woman just wouldn't shut up.
-the woman getting tackled and the glorious silence afterwards.

I was like who would say such a thing and then saw it was Kentpaul.
 
He was way more patient than he needed to be. He could have easily tazed him after the third time he told him to stop. Especially since the guy was getting physical.

Eh, I shop at Walmart for stuff quite a bit. The small-ass town near the base has a Walmart and a Kmart. And that Kmart is pretty shitty, with people getting shot in the parking lot a couple Xmas Days ago, so I only shop there for the game deals. But Walmart has better prices on cereal, drinks, and most food than the commissary does (except the commissary beats them on meat prices and quality) and prices at the BX suck even with tax-free.

I have always liked Target as a higher-end Walmart-type store, but the nearest Target is 45 minutes away. The nearest Best Buy is about as far away, as is a Toys R Us.

Like I said, about the only thing there is for shopping around here is Walmart, so I go there. But before I wound up here (in SC), I would have never thought about shopping in a Walmart ever.

Hence they both deserved exactly what happened to them. I'm all for citizens responding with disdain to actual cases of police brutality, but people seem to forget...officers arrest people that break the law. It's kinda what they do. Knowing that, if you're gonna get all up in a cops face and talk that yak because you want to be outraged that he's shopping at walmart....that's just asking for trouble.

Which they got in spades.

Its not even harassing the cop. If the cop tased him after one insult I'd say that the cop was a dick. But these people were persistently following and harassing him.

This kills me. As I said in the ABB thread, just like the 2nd amendment doesn't mean you can walk around with an RPG-7, the first amendment doesn't justify harrassment.
