Killer Instinct Season 3 |OT| Super Microsoft All-Star Bros for Xbox One & Windows 10

I tried jumping and when I landed he got me. I tried doing arias forward knee special and he also got me then.

Why don't you go to training mode with hit boxes on and see what you can do? Anyway, it travels about half screen so you can either jump or back dash if you're far enough. If you're too close you're sol

Finally picked this up and enjoying it.

Arbiter's really fun! He's the only one of the S3 cast who really clicks with me. Gonna mess with him for a while.

e: Also I'm using a Hori Fighting Commander 4 and it works great with Joy2Key, thankfully.

Game... please stop putting me against Lv. 50 players... Thank you. Also, please stop crashing after one or two online matches ;_;

Yeah that's one thing that I've been kinda disappointed with

I kept hearing how amazing KI's online is and how it should be the golden standard for fighting games etc. etc., but 1) the matchmaking seems completely boned because it keeps matching me with people ten times my level, 2) loading times online seem to take way longer than offline matches (I have no idea if I'm playing against Xbone players, maybe that's why) and 3) I've gotten a decent amount of pretty annoying lag in matches.

I'm getting paired against a 1star player, that's a one time top 32, so hold that, sorry

and then a killer rank

and then a gold rash that triples me ultra and I cannot catch

and btw my char is 50 and with double exp, everyone else will be lvl 50 too fast

The charcter levels are meaningless, and only matter for unlocking colors and parts. The faster the better. It still takes a hell of a long time if you want every character's stuff. This 2x exp should have been the baseline.

Does player level really has anything to do with how good someone is at playing other people? I mean, couldn't you just farm xp in story or survival mode?

It has nothing to do with it. I had all my characters at 50 through season 2 and that was only via mindless farming while I watched TV. I'm not very good.

yeah, that was actually my point lol

I don't know, but all the high level people I played against were really good. In comparison, the low level ones were manageable, regardless of winning or losing. I want to learn, and it is impossible to learn when I can't actually play.

Anyways, I found a lobby with some nice people to play with, this is much better.

So I complained quite a bit on my last few posts, but it is just because I want to play this game and... some stuff is getting on the way. The game itself is awesome and I love it.

Don't really want to bring more negativity to the thread, so I will just struggle until matchmaking "sorts itself out".

Anyways, I have been enjoying Aganos a lot. Hisako, too. I love that she has a teleport and a sort of ranged command grab. I think I will be maining these two... Are there any youtubers who post tutorials and/or tips on how to play specific characters?

I hope I didn't come across as painting you as being negative. If I did, I apologize. I does sound like matchmaking needs to "stabilize" itself after the reset, though. I'm not well-versed in this stuff, though.
I think Hisako is an interesting character too, I need to wrap my head around the wrath thingy though.

Once I break away from my Jago noobness (what I mean by that is that I started playing Jago at launch and just haven't tried to branch out, not that Jago players are noobs), I'd like to try and main Maya, though. I think she's a cool character too with the way her daggers work.

I could be Maya champ one day, right?

It is fine and I don't think you did. Some other user was bit too aggressive with their wording, but it is fine, too.

Yeah, she is great. Her mechanics take some time to get used to (I guess you could say the same in regards of most characters in the game). Counters, teleport, the rekka thingy with the Naginata, command grabs... She offers a lot to learn. That being said, my biggest problem with her so far is called Maya. I am having difficult going from an agile character like her to slow characters like Hisako and Aganos. Perhaps I shouldn't keep playing Maya, but she is reallllly fun as well. You are right, she is a cool character.

Oh and I need to use the instincts more often. I keep forgetting about them :x

So my game passes the performance test at 4K but it's extremely bad while playing, framerate all over the place, doesn't feel smooth at all at 4K, 1440p and 1080p as well. Am I missing something here? 4790K, 980ti, 16GB. Kinda sad that the game plays better streaming from my Xbox than natively on my pc.
I had awful performance too on Fable Legends no matter the resolution, really hate this Windows app crap.

Have you updated your drivers?

Try that. Maybe it can help.

I'm frustrated.

For the past 4 hours, nearly 5, I have been trying to play online and I can't find a single match.

I've tried everything in this reddit post and I even tried reinstalling the game.

Nothing. I'm able to do private matches and that's it. Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: If it helps, I'm using an ethernet cable.

bump.

So no one here on PC is having a similar issue?
The KI subreddit seems to have a lot of posts about this.

Sounds like something is really wrong with your PC. It should be crushing the game, I've got a similar set up but with a 6600k and its like butter.

I haven't had issues, but I think I saw someone say something about turning ON some windows firewall to help fix it? I dunno, haha.

Hopefully it gets sorted out though!

just curious, does it feel like it's running too fast? Is it more difficult to dash than you think it should be?

Yeah on the latest Nvidia drivers.
The game is super fast on my Gsync monitor but on my 4K tv the performance is really bad, really have no clue. No other game is doing this.

Edit : looks like deactivating my Gsync monitor fixes the problem.

I've tried that already and it doesn't work :(

Eight hours of trying different solutions and nothing has worked.

I'm probably going to reinstall windows at this point.

I went 3-7 during the qualifier period, which is actually a bit better than I expected. It feels really odd to be back at square 1 with a fighting game after so many years of being decent at Street Fighter. I even warmed up to Guilty Gear quicker than I am in KI so far.

I think I really need to go to the breaker practice and spend an eternity learning how to break every single character. That doesn't sound like all that much fun. I already spent a decent chunk of time in there breaking TJ and Fulgore, but pretty much no one else.

I also am struggling because I don't know when to press buttons. Is there a common/official source for all frame data in the game?

Also, for PC players: Anyone run into an issue where the game just starts running at half the FPS as usual? I was playing and finishing the last 2 dojo combos and out of nowhere I had insane FPS drops. I closed every open program, restarted KI 3 times, and nothing fixed it except for restarting my PC. KI, Windows and my nvidia drivers are all up-to-date.

Edit: Fuck it I bought the Supreme Edition just now, I don't feel like re-learning a new character every week by sticking to the free edition. Hopefully I get my moneys worth out of the game!

Another question: Which character plays closes to M.Bison from SF4/SF5? Not charge, but more like... safe-ish pressure (scissors).

I'm running it on a Late 2011 Macbook Pro

2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
AMD Radeon HD 6750M

Kinda a silly question but did you set the game to high performance from the AMD Catalyst switchable graphics? Also, what version of the driver are you running?

I ran into that problem because my TV refresh rate was set to 30 Hz instead of 60 Hz

Hmmm....I dunno! Glacius maybe? Hes more super ranged zoning, like Sim, but hes got some good pressure attacks if you wanna get up in there.

Maybe Thunder too? I dunno! Im having trouble of thinking of any fighting game character thats like M.Bison, haha.

I was having a lot of issues getting the game to work yesterday, for some reason the Xbox app was giving me issues. Just shut the PC down and wanted to try today.

The game worked and I'm playing the F2p version to get a sense of whether I'll get players online and how the game works and plays and everything.

Tutorial was amazing, I already knew a lot of the fighting game terminologies and techniques but this is probably the first game that I've played that tries to teach you all these things.

Finally decided to go online and got matched up with a Glacius player. Now I've played against a lot of Dhalsim in Street Fighter so I know how to slowly work my way towards an opponent who tries to keep you at a very long arm's length but this was still my first match.

Holy shit, this game is intense. We both played like 7 matches in a row and I won like 4 of them. It was so intense and getting that ultra finisher (that b+f.ppp when the enemies health is in the danger zone) was so satisfying.

The amazing thing is that I'm playing this in Pakistan at 2:00 PM on a Monday yet I still found a player within my skill level with whom I had a practically perfect connection online.

Most definitely going to be getting this game now :)

I'm totally in agreement with your opinion of the matchmaking system. People keep saying it's the reset system messing up, though I have been put against people who are in Silver when I probably shouldn't as a scrub.

I mean, you do learn from people above you. However, I don't think you easily learn from people who are so far above you, that you don't even know what you're doing wrong, because the skill gap is just too large. I mean you can defer to other people also at that level to say what you did wrong, but it's probably going to be a rather long list, part of which will be down to total inexperience which sadly comes with time(and practice).

In my case it's probably going to be a long road until I become anything close to decent, I practically have zero 2d fighting game experience.

Plan on getting Season 3, but I am wondering if the $39.99 ultra edition is worth an extra $20. That seems to be a lot of money for some accessories.
