Yup, anyone can do that with some post effects. The team who just created this
Aren't talented.

You heard it here folks!
Desperately hoping this game is good
dat tech trailer music.

There hasnt really been a lot of review talk, thats kind of strange.

I wonder what sd considers talent.
I can't even... just wha... fuck.
No, they use both combined, as you have to when using SSRs.Were space screen reflections canned for simple reflection cubemaps?.
Umm...that's in the OP. It's half of what the thread is about.
I have had that tech trailer song on repeat all day. Shit has such an intense build up! Sets a perfect tone for the killzone franchise.
Awesome gif!!!
It's entirely possible to make a fantastic-looking game WITHOUT the use of such cheap post processing effects. It of course takes talent, which these guys don't seem to have. I've never been a fan of the Killzone visual style, to be honest.
I am pretty sure it is in ingame just as they did in Mercenary. You probably have some control over the direction you look in.
afaik, the game has no pre-rendered videos. Actually, I can't say for sure, all I remember is they said all cutscenes are from 1st person view, but that doesn't mean they won't be pre-rendered.
The game's ~40GB size sure suggests there might be video files involved though.
Very interested in their next publication. It will be great read for sure.![]()
Very interesting to hear. Answers some of my questions then![]()
Seriously, did You only read pre-rendered and hit reply? I havent said this is pre-rendered in KZ:SF, I said that on current-gen it would not pass as CGI, but as in-engine pre-rendered video.
There is nothing in this scene that could be even considered CGI.

Song in Tech Trailer is outstading. Cant stop listening to it.

Fair enough I stand corrected. Don't agree that it could pass as in-engine pre-recorded though. The quality of the assets and density of the scene are better than anything I have seen this gen.
So good. It sounds like a mix of the The Dark Knight Rises with some of the stuff Rockstar's been doing this gen. I really hope there's more of that in the game. Edit: Someone mention Amon Tobin's stuff from Splinter Cell, and I can definitely hear that as well.
Density is great, but geometry is extremely low poly, textures are abysmal on those buildings, smoke is nothing to talk about and rest of the scene is so far away that it could be rendered as sprites and You wouldnt see the difference.
Dont get me wrong, it looks great and does the job, but i dont see anything that couldnt be done on current gen consoles in 720p in for example 7-10fps. Sure, You couldnt render that on PS3 or X360 in real-time, but pre-render it like ND or SSM does cutscenes, why not?

Oh my.
I noticed this too.I am going to have to go there. You seem to have a remarkable ability to pick out the slightest flaw on anything that isn't crytek related. And yet, many of the same criticisms could be leveled at the Ryse tech demonstations (low poly assets in places, shimmering, texturing inconsistancies, as are common to all Crytek games) and yet not a peep out of you. You seem to have some compulsion to jump on the slightest flaw, and yet fawn over Ryse.
I could kiss you Shinobi. Goodness gracious! Those two vids. All my orifices.....
One thing though: I'd rather take a lesser dense geometry to minimize LoD pop in at this point to be honest. I really hope that Sony's ICE team finds cheap and efficient ways to use tessellation and we can really mitigate this visual annoyance.
Off to make GIFs.
to be honest
and I'm never "that" guy
But I'm going to be dissappointed if this gets less than a 9
Its the only exclusive I give a shit about on the console.

All the things you have enumerated, low poly compared to what? Texturing and poly count look much better than equivalent scenes in games such as Uncharted and TLoU given the scale.
As for the 720p at 7fps...well Crysis 3 on PS3 doesnt quite reach that low, but it doesnt reach 720p either. And this looks far more impressive than that game.
Hmmm.... I wonder why didn't GG do it on PS3 then.
Hmmm....
Ok, now where i said that Ryse looks like CGI?
I am not saying you did, nor am I saying your criticisms are necessarily incorrect. Just that I find it a little tiresome that you spread your criticisms rather unevenly. Of course you are entitled to do that.
Probably comparing either of these games to cgi is doing them a disservice though. They both look very impressive to me and make me excited to see the level of visuals delivered by devs in a year or two.

But i havent even started to criticized KZ:SF. I've said basically nothing except that it doesnt look like CGI and that it does look real-time.
I havent even commented on tech trailer yet in this thread. You're over-sensitive.
