Ok imagine you get your game to render an outside view with 4 characters on screen at 60-70 fps, then cap that at 60. What happens when you add 3 more chars and 2 explosions? You drop to 45 which is capped to 30. Thats how it is. If you dont want to ever drop below 60 you have to aim for a game which normally runs at 140 fps. And thats not a super pretty game like KZSF. Stable 60 wont happen. Getting the current drops to 20 up to 60 is undoable from just optimization. We are talking getting things to run at least three times as fast in a particular moment. Not gonna happen.
But what you WiLL get is perhaps the most pretty console game ever and it will running at 60 at some points even. Thats nice stuff.

Cutting the AI from SP (60+ NPCs in a scene), smaller environments, less physics, and a couple visual alterations will help a lot.Pretty sad it took this long for someone to state the obvious. If they truly want 60fps locked then there will have to be a big downgrade graphically otherwise expect a dodgy framerate. Wouldn't be surprised if we end up with people preferring a locked 30 rather than what they come up with.

This. Slow/sluggish =/= input lag. Except it wasn't just the aiming. Jumping was delayed, firing was delayed, etc. There was high latency between the controller and the screen, period.I said most Killzone fans not all Killzone fans. At least on GAF anyway. Also, KZ2 does not have half a second response delay. Not even close. It actually had 7/30th of a second lag at launch, and 5/30th after the patch. Which is in line with many popular games and nothing close to game breaking.
Don't make the mistake of confusing uncommon analogue acceleration, less auto aim etc with terrible input lag or controls. It was a design decision that may enjoyed.

I hope so. KZ3 was vastly improved over launch KZ2 in terms of controls. Just hope the guns aren't as recoil-less as recent videos have indicated.Impressions have said it controls like KZ3, not KZ2.

Ok. Listen. This was a multiplayer map from the game. Its not some old specfic demo they put together. And it was a showcase of the game to the world. If they pulled a miracle and upped performance by three times in high intensity scenes, they would wanna show THAT version. Get it? The game must be done within 1-1.5 months. We are talking last touches now. So they will have a version they can put up locked to one map. They dont need to, and wont, and wouldnt, and shouldnt pull out some 2 months old demo. Thats not how things work in this industry.Judging a game based on what is likely a months old alpha-build demo? You're right, I don't get it.
