Hey. Anyone have a solution for this? Lately some of my video files dont have any sound. If I start them with MPC HC it still has sounds, but in Kodi the sound is missing.

How do you output your audio?

Check your audio output settings in Kodi if they're still correct, something might have caused it to switch to the wrong output device.

I found the problem now the point is..."why?" And "how to solve this?"

After some test I understood that the problem shows up only if I let the resolution @60hz. If its set to 1080p@59 I can directly see the Kodi startup logo and when I close the application there are no problems. If its set to 1080p I can tranquilly use windows but when I start Kodi I'll have the weird video noise of the picture (for like three seconds and then is fine) and I'll see it again when I close it.

This is a new install of Kodi, I changed HDD so I had to format and reinstall everything but the rest of the hw is the same...

Any suggestions? I already uninstalled and installed the video cards drivers :-(

Please help !

Looks like I found something (after losing a lot of time on this...): if I start Kodi it produces the problem, but then if I go in settigs...

- Change from full screen to windowed mode
- Shows the video noise for about 3 secs
- Change it back to Full screen
- Shows the video noise for about 3 secs

But now it won't do it anymore until next PC reboot. I can close and restart Kodi and it won't do it anymore, until as I said next reboot of the PC.

Any suggestion?

Are you set to fullscreen mode or fullscreen window?

2nd option:

800px-Settings.system.video_output.png

Fullscreen mode.

I also noticed that the problem doesn't come up if I set the windows refresh (in nvidia settings) @59 or if I activate "video conversion" in my pioneer avr but I don't want to use that function.

For those unaware, Kodi is now available on Google Play, and was removed from Amazon.

Bros help. This seems like such a simple thing, but how do I add a restart PC power option to the main menu? I don't know if this is a restriction of the skin, but I only have quit, shutdown and shutdown timer.

Eminence

Guess it's a limitation of the skin. I guess I'll look into tweaking the xml config file power menu option.

This is definitely one thing I don't like about Kodi, some settings and options are only available in various skins. Like AEON NOX has the option to shutdown, reboot the computer from the main menu, while also being able to just quit Kodi as well.

I recently bought the Nvidia Shield Pro (Android TV) and installed Kodi on it. I also love using Eminence. I was able to add Android Apps as short cuts in the main menu using the "favorites" option and the doing a custom button for each. Like Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, all Android apps.

Not sure if the "power off" can be saved as a favorite. But if you can then you should be able to create a custom button in the main menu with Eminence.

Does this work well with Amazon Instant VIdeo and/or Netflix?

Did some quick googling but didn't find a great answer; plugins exist but they all have a ton of complaint comments, particularly about login issues.

Isn't that a skin design problem and not Kodi's fault?

The best way to get it to work is to use an Amazon Fire TV. You can integrate the Android apps directly into Kodi then. I'm not sure if there are any other solutions out there that work well.

So I want to buy my mother a box for her to watch greek tv streams/videos. Greek tv channels usually stream their shows and upload them a few minutes after they aired. I found out about Kodi today, tried it on my laptop and it's perfect. Now I want to make the experience as easy as possible for her and I found some options.

- Raspberry Pi 2 - Looks nice, hardware seems to be pretty great for Kodi but needs additonal hardware like case, tv remote, cables etc.

- Cubox - Seems to be a nicer Raspberry Pi 2, better hardware and all but still needs a tv remote and I honesty don't think she needs the better hardwae. Although she's used to recording all her shows and breaking that habit could be a bit difficult. So maybe I could also record stuff with this? Dunno.

- Amazon Fire TV Stick - This seems to be the most elegant solution. Tv remote built in and all, no need for extra hardware. But is the hardware itself good enough for Kodi, isn't it maybe a bit slow? And she would not be able to record anything with it. (But I might get one for myself, love my Chromecast but this seems pretty nice too.)

What to do GAF?

I find the wifi on the Firestick hit or miss. From my experience dont have the Firestick to far away from router. Second option would be wired Fire Tv.

The Fire Stick will take some setup to get working right because you have to sideload Kodi onto it and then the app will be hidden away in an obscure menu unless you do even more setup for it to become an icon on the main menu.

For the easiest solution, I'd probably recommend the Nexus Player since it already has Kodi on the Play Store. You can find the Nexus Player at Walmart currently for $50.

Nexus Player seems better but it's 90€, the Fire TV Stick is 40€.
Installing and bringing Kodi to the Stick's front page doesn't seem that difficult to me. I'll set it up to her and show her what she needs to do. I'm thinking of geting one and just sending it back if it's too complicated for her.

The Stick should be getting Fire OS5 soon, and it looks like Llama and Firestarter don't work as well (yet). You'll have to navigate through settings to launch Kodi until they figure that out. It's something to consider.

Edit (11/21): FireStarter works beautifully now. It even installs and updates Kodi for you.

Which video scraper are you guys using?

I'm using TMDB, but I wonder whether it would make sense to switch to the Universal Movie Scraper. After all, it also supports TMDB.
I did actually try it a long time ago, but I had some issues which convinced me to stick with TMDB. The problem is, I can't remember what kind of issues I experienced. I guess I'll copy my database/settings to another account so I can safely try it.

Sorry for thread grave digging, but anyone knows sth. about smart playlists? I compiled one and wanted to use it as "Path is F:\ANIME" and "In Progress True" to show all the shows that are In Progress of my anime shows, but it doesnt show anything even though there are about 5 shows that I started and show up in the normal "In Progress" list.

In Progress only applies to if you create a library for you media I think.
