There is nothing to love about MGSV's story. It was insanely unnecessary to the overall saga. That is a fact. If it was omitted, nothing would change. In fact, you could say it hurt one the legend of one of the mosf important characters. The body double 'plot twist' was dumber than anything in MGS4, Peace Walker j-pop fight ending, and Ocelot's meowing in MGS3 combined. Big Boss became less of a character and Kojima tried making 'us' Big Boss. Retarded as shit. Kojima needs to prove himself competent again.
That's not it for me exactly, while I can say that overall I hated the MGSV story, I quite loved the twist and it certainly fits the whole MGS canon (some/most/everyone will know what I mean).
What I hated was:
* The story took forever to get going.
* Ocelot was kind of wasted after the introduction chapter.
* The whole wolbachia plot was kind of stupid (early nanomachines? not really, 10.000 times worse)
* No chapter 3~final payoff (f**k phantom pain if it was intentional, but really doubt it)
* Non traditional 4 bosses approach, game felt really weak in this regard.
* Sahelanthropus was so out of place.
* PSPs mission based / mother base managing gameplay makes the game last a lot longer but drags away from the story so much, a different approach would have been better.
But like I said, the twist was quite great for me, I can give Kojima that.
