The Fatman fight in MGS2 was basically bomberman anyways. Even had a grid arena with containers.

A free-to-play Bomberman could work if they make the right moves. I doubt they'd do it, but it's possible.

Speaking of which, is Bomberman the most held back on purpose frachise in history? Like 20 years ago we've had 10 player, we've had 8 player, we've had so many stage designs, modes, items, single player adventures, yet each iteration misses more than half of everything out. It's got to be on purpose at this point.

That's not a Saturn game. It used a custom NEC board and two PC Engines for control input.
