Here at Kotaku, we spend most of our time focusing on games that are already out. That’s kind of our thing. But still, every once in a while we like to look to the future and get excited about what’s next. Here are the games we can’t wait to play in 2016.

- Persona 5
- The Legend of Zelda
- Crackdown 3
- Mass Effect Andromeda
- Horizon: Zero Dawn
- Cuphead
- Tacoma
- Scalebound

The joke is that these games were once set to release in 2016 but none of these games actually released in 2016 har har har

I look forward to how much Microsoft will put behind Crackdown 3's marketing - when it's inevitably set in stone as far as a no-more-delays-promise-guys release date - not to mention Scalebound since that's probably the least-Xbox-like title coming up now that ReCore has passed.

It will be more impressive if the article was written in 2015.
Not so funny, try harder Kotaku.

You're missing like the entire point of the article. Its just making fun of how silly release dates are from most companies. Literally every single Sony first party release this generation has been delayed at least once, even the 1st year of MLB on PS4 was delayed.

I see what they did there.

Most of them will likely make it in 2017, but it's the same reason why Red Dead Redemption is lower on my list of anticipated 2017 list: I don't know if it'll make it. So I'm more excited for stuff like Gravity Rush 2 and Horizon: Zero Dawn.

I remember Persona 5 being on a lot of people's "Most Anticipated" in 2015 and 2016. This time, it's bloody happening!

Cuphead, Zelda, and Mass Effect are my most anticipated from that list. Not interested in the others, though.

Scalebound maybe?

Judging by the last E3 demo, you might just be right.

Still can't work out why Platinum thought it best to have that boss fight as the gameplay shown given it's only the second clip we've seen outside of its initial non-gameplay reveal. I get they want to break away from what they're more renowned for but why couldn't they just elaborate on the gameplay they showed previous - World exploration and smaller spectacle combat - with perhaps a boss of sorts (and a more interesting boss fight at that)?

"No more messing around!" *proceeds to spam arrows for a second time*

How many of those are we going to see on the same article at the end of next year =/

Not that many I think, as many delayed and/or anticipated games will be released in the first quarter. Out of the most anticipated 2017 games, I can only see RDR2 being delayed.

I think it was ready to release, but the game wasn't fun, so they got more time, which is the best thing tbh.

The boss fights were fantastic last year and this year when I played them at Gamescom.

They probably need the extra time for the run and gun stages.

Scalebound will be hot garbage. Calling it now.

Might be super wrong.

Nah. Behins closed doors demo at Gamescom looked ace and Kamiya's track record is impressive. This will be great.

I wonder if Crackdown will go the way of Deep Down and people will just stop expecting it to come out. Same with Cuphead and Below at this point.
