Back on the topic of the technology: I can see why it would confuse limbs of the body w/the couch. The one guy who was fairly large and quite a distance further than Kudo was experiencing some difficulty in tracking his motions both during the race, and later during the tech demo. It was going pretty crazy.
Zabka said:It's cool tech, but it looked like it had some issues with the dude in the black shirt. It still had had his skeleton but there was a whole lot less detail in the point cloud compared to the Renegade's.
It still worked pretty well though.

The audience really seemed to like it as well.

Bizzyb said:It will get old fast. You can only have so much fun trying to see how each animal mimmicks you before you realize how fucking shallow the "gameplay" is.
Nintendogs was a winner because not only did you interact with the dog but you taught it tricks, bought toys and items that all kinds of different effects, Items for the dog to wear, you feed, bathed and groomed the dog, took it for walks in the neighborhood, finding presents, played in the park WITH OTHER DOGS, and eventually you put the dog in contests. It had depth and content. And on top of it all you were "touching" and interacting with all of the objects in the game world, not scratching at air.
This game is 1/10th of what Nintendogs was. I really hope they are just holding back what else the game has to offer.
Iced_Eagle said:Agreed. When MS is way more casual about it and just showing that people are having fun, then the device shines.

Why didnt he wear any on the Jimmy something show? He magically got fixed that night? Whatever the case if he indeed had any issues, he wouldnt be wearing some gucci like glasses lol.Massa said:Have you considered his eyes may be too sensitive?
Always annoys me when people complain about that. :-|

Link me up if you have others.

Looks like it is going to be a pretty fleshed out game.
Probably as fleshed out as it can be for a motion control game designed for young children.
Don't be stupid.

There's also a jump rope activity video somewhere. Supposedly there are more features that will be unveiled as they show different parts of the island leading up to launch.
I'm not saying it's up to Nintendogs, but there's a lot we haven't seen yet. In any case, I'm not sure why you're trying to be a buzz kill.
Bizzyb said:They keep showing the same shit over and over and it looks like it will get old after a while. Excuse me if that's all I have to base my opinion on. Of course they should, but what's the harm in having family orientated games for inside the house? Ever played Monopoly or one of the various other board games growing up?Hex said:I personally believe that parents with children need to stop thinking about a game system giving their kids their activity and take their kids outside for some sunlight.
are you aware that a real cat needs things like food and water and milk, and occasionally shits, pisses and sheds all over the place?MrPliskin said:For how long? I mean, would you really spend about $210 for your kids to play with a virtual cat?

Nothing that they have shown would keep a kid entertained for more than a few hours, not the sports game and not kinectimals.
If ms wants to market it to kids, let it be judged differently but right now I have not seen them do any live demos with kids yet.

Microsoft Kinect for Xbox 360.

A lot of the posters on GAF take Kinect to be a direct attack against them and all that they believe in. It's quite ridiculous.
Because Microsoft said it would:Paco said:It's really a wonder how GAF came to the conclusion that Kinect is supposed to appeal to them...
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/16/microsoft-core-games-sell-themselves-natal-will-broaden-audi/Project Natal will play a big part in Microsoft's continuing goal to interest more casual players, Dennis said. He compared the interactive, controller-less experience to having the broad appeal of a title like Wii Fit -- something Dennis calls "an experience done right" that goes beyond the core yet still manages to "capture the imagination of the core." It's this dual-catering that Dennis thinks Natal excel at, as he predicts the hardware will enable experiences that the core will look forward to, as well as "casual game experiences that are easy to jump in and play."

How about the Cirque Du Soleil show that started with a kid riding an elephant. How about the family, including two small children suspended on a couch in the air, or the video with the two parents playing in the background while the two children jump around in front of them. A lot of the river raft demos showed families, namely middle aged parents.
No, it's not clear at all...
Hex said:If you honestly believe that the demo from E3 was live and real, then you are definitely the audience that they are looking for.

Of course that's the first logical step to take. Someone defending a product from relentless attack is clearly working for Microsoft. God forbid some of us have an open mind and haven't totally written the thing off yet. The way this situation echoes the Wii reveal is uncanny.gcubed said:Paco works for MS? sure. Sorry I guess I just thought that someone who apparently is emotionally invested and feels the need to defend a piece of hardware from random internet meanies can get something for it, other than an internet medal from yousaunderez said:Of course that's the first logical step to take.
