Kuma/Panda joins Tekken 7

Yeah. I have no problem with Kuma, he has even more Classic status than Lei. But Lei is as central to the Tekken saga as Paul and Law and shouldn't be left as a nailbiter. I will think twice about buying 7 if Lei is not in there.

I don't mind if Lei isn't in.

I do mind if Lei's fighting style or some form of his multiple styles isn't in.

The harada tweets and quotes address Lei as a story character, which I could be without. Put his fighting style on a platypus or give it to Alex, I don't care.

Although Jackie Chan should still sell some copies, especially if it's available in China.
 
I think Lei still has a really good chance. He's probably the one fans have been most vocal about for the past several months. I like him about as much as I like Kuma, so definitely rooting for the stance master.

Panda uses Ling's double kick (forgot the name..scissor kick?) in the trailer, so I guess Xiaoyu has been giving her lessons.

I imagine they gave Panda her own slot and moves to appeal to the Chinese audience.

Lei is probably coming with the worldwide release.
Harada has pointed out several times that Lei's usage in arcades/competitive is quite low despite his popularity.
 
Makes sense to show Kuma and Panda to me. The Japanese and Koreans at the event got wild and loud when they were revealed which is good, they loved it. The difference is the commentators and some in this thread dislike it. It's just a difference of opinion. Definitely not as bad as people think here. They don't agree with the negative Panda and Kuma comments. Same thing with the Pachinko and sticker thing they showed. People here made jokes but they loved it. That reveal was catered to them, not most of us.

You try so hard, man. Kuma was in Tekken since the very first installment. Hardly comparable to SF becoming progressively more goofy.

Anyway, I chuckled a bit at the trailer. This is one good looking fighting game.

Only 7 are actually new. The other 2 are basically just palette swaps for existing characters.

If you are talking about Josie and Gigas, then njah, I count them as new. They might be Bruce and Marduk "palettes" but come on now, they are new with a few tweaks, but still new characters. I know where you're coming from, but I still think they should be considered new.

Then why aren't you counting Master Raven? She's no different than Josie and Gigas. Based on a previous character with a few new moves.

He was talking directly to the chat, Markman is the fgc he knows whats up, and what is hype.
Either he is the biggest troll in the planet or he just didn't know the characters announced
Right before the announcement he told us there is no release date ... okay you would think there would be something to compensate for not having a date. MULTIPLE times , stay after the finals stream monsters,tekken fans .. This is the final final Grand Championship before the game comes out. Talk about pulling the rug
. Yeah we got news a new mode, couple dumb characters but what else do you want us to say but

My fault. I was thinking Lucky Chloe was added in TTT2 for some reason. It's been that long since Tekken 7 was announced...

I still wouldn't count Gigas, Josie or Master Raven.

What would you have him say? "What's coming up isn't hype guys. Go ahead and leave."

He was there working for Namco. He's not going to say anything overly negative, especially when it wasn't all that bad. Two new characters are two new characters. More are coming, so it's whatever.

go back and listen to how he asked us to stay multiple times
He didn't do that last year
it wasn't just like "oh we have something to show at the end" like last year
He was imperative we stay after the finals
and let me repeat he did this multiple times
Like life or death, crucial mission shit , Can't MISS THIS GUISE
it's whatever now though
 
haha the salt in here. it was a bit disappointing they didn't have a console release date but they still got a couple of characters left to reveal right? At least we know there will be a date given next month. I'm thinking probably March or April.
