Feeling like a loser before the big show.

I feel bad for her. You can discard her alleged insecurities and "doing it for the fans" thing, but what is undeniably true is that every passing day she's a bigger target for the media to chew up. It's downright disturbing how these stars are built up to later be ravaged and defiled in every possible public way, should they slip up.
Notice also the gender discrepancy: Charlie Sheen can go off the hook and his actions are heralded as glorious,
winning, hilarious, etc. Granted, the media is enabling him to continue on this path of destruction, but they're not savagely trying to burn the house down like they so frequently do with the female counterparts (i.e. Britney Spears circa 2008). Refer also to Tiger Woods: a womanizer and cheater, but never a wench, cunt or unnatural. Interestingly enough, the only man I can recall who was unduly ravaged by the press was Michael Jackson, who was not what one would call the prototypical male. So it seems a breakdown is typically categorized in two different ways: the epic and hilarious one by conventional males, and the gross and unnatural one by anyone else.
Finally, if these stars don't end up throwing themselves off a bridge or what have you, the media can set up their triumphant comeback.
So inspirational! Too bad some tend to return as a former shell of what they used to be (Britney Spears, again).
Anyway, Gaga has already spoken about this vicious cycle, so it appears she's aware of it and hopefully will never succumb to it. I'm guessing her source of frustration is the lukewarm reception so far of Born This Way. Must sting being fully dedicated to something for so long so it can later be torn apart upon release. Remember that this is a first for her too: The Fame was her breaking through, so resistance was only natural and expected. The Fame Monster was a smaller project so not really comparable to BTW; nevertheless, it was well received. BTW, then, is the first time where she's feeling the heat of not meeting up to general expectations.
