Trump wants to win, and he has always wanted to win. The only reason anyone thinks otherwise is the evolution of the "Trump is Unstoppable" narrative to a "Trump never wanted to Win" one for those who can't process Trump as anything less than some unstoppable force when he never was.

I originally thought he didn't intend to win it but was encouraged by his strong presence early on and then seriously wanted it.

I can't believe we're in the third year of this show. Where did time go?
An episode a few weeks back had Jon mention a story they'd done "two years ago" and I was like, "What? Isn't this show only barely a year old?"

I've been watching since Day 1, too.

He didn't believe he could win. He was hoping to get top 3. But he always wanted it.

That would make more sense. That deep down he wanted it but didn't expect he'd get it.

Assistant: now that you're the nominee what do you want to do?
Trump: I don't know, I didn't expect I'd go so far.

John Oliver won an Emmy for "Outstanding Variety Series" for Last Week Tonight With John Oliver. Well deserved 😎👍

I just started watching this (well, mainly the Youtube channel) and this is exactly what I needed since Report and Daily Show ended.

If you can or haven't yet, check out Full Frontal with Samantha Bee on TBS. John Oliver and her are the real successors to Steven Colbert and Jon Stewart.

I'll start by saying that Full Frontal and Last Week Tonight are both great, but they have the benefit of being a weekly show and both hosts declining to take on the 4-5 times a week that Comedy Central wanted for its Daily Show and Colbert Report successors.

I would encourage everyone to give Trevor Noah a second chance in the lead up to the election as his convention coverage (including live shows right after the acceptance speeches) was amazing. It clearly took him and his staff some time to find their voices.

Heck, I would even be interested in seeing Larry Wilmore in a weekly vehicle. His show had flashes of brilliance, but that panel segment was usually painful.

I'll be sharing that segment on Facebook tomorrow morning...

Not sure if it'll hit the front page of Reddit with the amount of anti Hillary sentiment and pro-Donald "centipede" presence.

He made the same damn mistake every one else makes. He gave equal time to both HRC and Trump. I'm not saying he shouldn't have touched on her stuff, but it should have been way more Trump than Clinton.

He should have done a full show on each candidates scandals. Thats how shitty choices both are for president.

Was it equal? I felt like Clinton got more time talked about the actual issues than Trump did. And for a show that usually feels pretty in-depth, it felt very surface here. Maybe it's because we're so inundated with constant coverage on them compared to something like American's crumbling infrastructure, but I would have liked another half hour for the episode.

I haven't seen the newest episode yet but John Oliver is almost exclusively taking pot shots at Trump, he rarely focuses anything on Clinton.

Here is the thing though, he was probably doing it to actually give time to going through the common "scandals" about Hillary that Trump supporters generally bring up about her, there is a lot to unpack there. However, he was nowhere near as scathing as he was then in the later half about Trump and his perpetual lies.

I must say, John Oliver would absolutely hate being here in Sweden. :P

He hates raisins in pastries, something that is common here and he has expressed absolute disgust to dill, a household spice in many Swedish dishes.

Maybe a regional thing? Hardly see dishes with raisins (other than in müsli) around here. Nothing against raisins either, I can eat a handfull alone, but adding them to other foods/cookies/bread? There should be a law against that.

Raisins in food is harder to come by, but in pastries and bread it is not really unusual.

not unusual, but quite rare I'd say still. I mean, who would ruin the godly Vörtbröd by adding fucking raisins to it? There's a reason you see more bread without, than with. Cause people on the west coast have taste :)

Yeah but you west coasters also chug spettekaka which is like cardboard if wood pulp was mixed with a single corn of sugar.

I know it is a weird thing to think of, but I wonder where those raisins came from and where they go from here. Were they stale raisins that were being thrown away anyway? Are they going to be collected and used to feed animals like wild birds?

They're probably being sent straight to Hell where they belong.

No no, you're confusing us with those halfdanes down south. We've brought you the wonderful halv/hel special:
(1 or 2 hotdogs on bread, topped with mashed potatoes, ketchup, mustard, and västkustallad).

You're welcome :) And now I'm getting hungry.

Without timing it, I do feel as if his segment on Hillary was longer than his Segment on Drumpf. However, while he condemned Hillary's actions as, essentially, being stupid and looking bad, he had a much more conciliatory tone with her segments than he did with Drumpf's.

It was, essentially: Here's how she fucked up. Look it's not really that bad. Good god could she have handled that any worse?

With Drumpf, it was more: Here's how he fucked up. Good god, it really is that bad. This man should never ever ever be president.

I thought his presentation was fair.

That doctor makes me angry. Go fuck yourself, Doctor Excuses.

The piece did paint a really good picture for body camera usage so maybe it's working a lot better than it seems like.
