Fuck.
This, and The Office for me. Although The Office has been going downhill in a hurry. :/BrandNew said:Welp, once Chuck is over, I'm never watching THAT network ever again.

I'm guessing he'll just keep his current set.saiftk said:What about sets? Don't sets have to be built? Jesus Christ, Leno is such a corporate whore. How can someone with so much money get so much satisfaction in being a corporate stooge? WHY DOES HE LIKE CORPORATE COCK SO MUCH?!

Fuck Leno.
Lost Fragment said:Theoretically...at this point couldn't Conan be like "hmm...know what? I've changed my mind. Gonna keep hosting the Tonight Show" and screw either Jay or NBC over?
DrEvil said:Depends on the terms of Conan's departure, if his contract is in breach by him (e.g. if he walks when he's still technically host of the tonight show), they won't have to.
But if NBC is in breach (e.g., they fired conan or the tonight show was contractually supposed to be on at 11:35), then NBC would have to pay conan.
No one knows the details just yet.
If anything Fallon should be pitied for having to stick around and follow Jay after this debacle.Lonestar said:I know Fallon is harmless and all, and didn't do anything....
But can we hate him too? I know Conan wouldn't go back to 12:30, but man, getting pushed out of the channel by the old Geezer and the new guy that replaced you. Fuck...

Good thing I don't watch much of anything on NBC. I can quit whatever scraps that was left. Fuck you guys if you watch anything on that network. That includes the NFL.
No offense, but posts like these always seem to miss the point, in my opinion. Nielsen ratings reflect everyone's behavior, plus or minus whatever their standard deviation is, regardless of whether or not you have a Nielsen box. "My TV watching patterns would be different if I had a Nielsen box!" is a silly point to make. Assuming people want a principled boycott to hurt NBC's ratings, then everyone who believes in the cause has to do their part. Leaving it on the shoulders of those who actually affect the results completely misunderstands the concept of how a large enough random sample can be extrapolated onto the public at large.esc said:Unless you are a Nielsen family, it doesn't matter, so watch whatever the fuck you want.

It's harder for me. They would have cancel Chuck, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Community AND 30 Rock to be able to leave NBC.BrandNew said:Welp, once Chuck is over, I'm never watching THAT network ever again.

Fuck you, Leno. Fuck you NBC. Fuck you Zucker.
What is Conan going to do? I hope he gets a show somewhere and takes Leno down. But I can't see that happening. So I hope Letterman kills Leno in the ratings and Conan gets something good.
How is it principled if what they are saying amounts to: "I'm boycotting NBC except for the shows I'm currently watching!"? I was just pointing out they didn't need to rationalize their decision.Steve Youngblood said:No offense, but posts like these always seem to miss the point, in my opinion. Borgnine said:I thought the deal was that the contract said they could push the show to 12:05 which is why they cooked up their hairbrained scheme to have Jay have a half hour at 11:35. Conan said he's not doing a show at 12:05 which means he would have to walk away, which means he's the one in breach and not NBC. I don't think they would have even suggested the 12:05 thing if it wasn't in the contract.

Fallon has nothing to do with it. While he is not my favorite personality, his show can be pretty entertaining and has very creative segments along with Roots band.Lonestar said:I know Fallon is harmless and all, and didn't do anything....

It's not principled. I'm just saying that your counter amounts to suggesting that it doesn't matter anyway, which I think is misguided. "Fuck NBC except for my must-see television!" is a meaningless gesture, regardless of whether or not you have a Nielsen box in your house.esc said:How is it principled if what they are saying amounts to: "I'm boycotting NBC except for the shows I'm currently watching!"? Pretty much this. What Conan fans *should* be doing is either find an advertiser who's prominent on Conan, and buy the shit out of their stuff (ala Chuck and Subway), or write en masse to whoever is advertising on Leno that you won't be buying their stuff because they are sponsoring said program.esc said:How is it principled if what they are saying amounts to: "I'm boycotting NBC except for the shows I'm currently watching!"? Depends on the legal problems. If he is free to go elsewhere? ABC, CBS, FOX, Comedy Central would all be interested in his services.BobFromPikeCreek said:He doesn't really have anywhere to go.
