I agree w that huffington post article in letterman is so far ahead of the rest its not fair to put him against the rest. I like ferguson but he never has good guests so i only watch his intro and monologue. I have never seen kimmel/fallon and have no reason to watch. Conan isnt great at interviewing but he cant cut it all together if he has a new show.

Start on NBC to see whos on Fallon. When the intro screen is about to say "and the legendary roots" flip to CBS, Craig is starting.
When craigs cold opening is done, go back to NBC. Youll catch the end of Fallons terrible jokes and his first minute at the desk. Then back to Ferguson you go to get the end of the theme song.
Etc etc. Eventually youll have the ferguson commercial breaks memorized!

Hint: This is the reason why interviews on Ferguson and both Conan shows were good: they're able to prevent the interviewees talking about their latest project and actually make it interesting. I'd much rather see Conan interview the bread guy than another A-grade celeb flogging their worthless POS movie. Of course there are exceptions but in general, the Z-grade interviewees provide the most entertainment.goldenticket said:

Eh, depends on what you call 'good guests'. If you mean big names, then yeah, Ferguson doesn't really have them. But honestly, Craig Ferguson talking to Lauren Graham or Parker Posey is far more fun to watch than Jay Leno talking to Sarah Palin, or David Letterman with John Travolta. Those later guys might be more popular, but they usually make for boring interviews too because they can't be too weird, or they'll be called out on it by the media. Same goes for Stephen Fry: he doesn't have a show in the US. Nobody really knows him in America, except his dedicated fans. But I can guarantee you that that Ferguson-Fry interview will probably be the best/most interesting talk-show interview you'll see all year.goldenticket said:

Stephen Fry? Never watched Bones, but now that you mention it, yeah. He has a recurring role on that. Still, though: he's not even remotely as big a star in the US as he is in the UK, and the chance of seeing him on Fallon, Letterman, or Leno seems very small.DeathbyVolcano said:

I would be happy with lauren graham or parker posey but most nights craigs guests arent that good. For example tonight is seann william scott n jackie collins. No thanks. But if craig keeps it up he will continue to get better peopleThomper said:

Eh. I think I'd have to give the edge to Letterman, there. Olympic athletes might be the big 'news' thing, but Bill Murray, Jerry Seinfeld, and Tom Hanks are all far funnier. Plus, if I'd have to choose one Republican being interviewed, Mitt Romney's the one that seems actually interesting, at least far more so than Sarah Palin.

I relly like Ferguson (and absolutely love this episode with Stephen Fry... very ballsy to do a show without an audience, just interviewing a guest and really getting into it) but I don't know if he'd be the person to follow up Dave. (Entertainment Weekly) -- NBC confirmed online reports today that Kevin Eubanks, Jay Leno's affable bandleader, will step down from his post sometime after original installments of "The Tonight Show" resume in March.Jason's Ultimatum said:

For now, he is expected to be present for Leno's much-talked about return to "Tonight" on March 1.

I refuse to watch on air/hulu. If anything interesting happens, I'd like a videotape sent to a nondescript PO BOX which I will make available to you in the near future. Other than that, I don't want to give leno any Hulu hits, Uverse/DVR rating points (I'm pretty sure that's tracked somewhere), Youtube hits, or anything else.
