I hate that this is even being called a "leak." "Leak" suggests to me that the celebrities accidentally released the photos themselves. These photos were stolen and then deliberately released by the thief. There should be some harsher word used, that fully communicates how scummy this is.

Once you have the email, getting the password for a famous person isnt that hard if they dont take extra steps to secure it. Problem with apple is that the 2step verification message can be sent to multiple unsecured devices.

Yea but yo shouldn't blame the victims at all in this situation. Privacy is privacy. And whoever is behind this needs to go directly to prison for the rest of his life.

Wow, it seems those new JLaw pics with her face covered with about a quart of semen are real. Everyone at first thought they were fake. I don't think the other nudes of her were bad but I can see those latest ones haunting her career. I feel sorry for her.

No. I agree that you'd hope your stuff would be secure enough to not get hacked, but when you store naked pictures of yourself somewhere, or transfer them to someone else, you're always playing with fire.

I thought snapchat was made to eliminate stuff like this too
 
I'd like to thank this thread for making me aware of these alleged leaks. Not that I'd ever look at these private tastelessly hacked photos.

This is fucked up and I really hope the people behind this catch some heat for it through the legal system.

Some of you guys need to get off that victim blaming shit too. People should be allowed to take pics of themselves and share them with whomever the hell they like without having to worry about hacks. It's their life. They're not the problem, hacking is the problem. Period.

With all that being said... *sigh*... I'm not even going to sit here and bullshit you, GAF... I'm very much looking forward to some of these leaks. Straight up.

as for the "victim blaming" circle jerk, perhaps we should stop giving young children advice on how to stay safe. Those kids should be able to play on the playground next to the minefield next to the crackhouse at midnight. If anything happens to them, it's not their fault.

the point is, people should be smarter about technology and how they use it. I'm not about to post my address and real name on here and act like "shucks, I wish all this horrible shit hadn't happened to me".

I think there are real examples of actual victim blaming, such as telling a rape victim it was her fault for getting drunk at a party. Saying these people are fucking idiots for being high-profile targets and STILL saving these pictures is not victim blaming.

You adjust to how the world is, not how you want it to be. With the knowledge that all your pictures get saved to the cloud, people should be more careful with what they share. You can tell people to stop being evil/bad/immoral, but there will always be people like that. It's your responsibility to take precautions to protect yourself.

That's totally acceptable because people shouldn't write things in private e-mails or say things in private phone convos that might embarrass them if known to the public, amiright? Why are you being obtuse? There is a difference between your government doing morally questionable things and invading your privacy and sending nude pictures when every single one is backed up to the cloud.
