LeBron James' NBA Finals record: 2-4

He's also 0-3 since the world saw he got a small dick. I said it in another thread, but I think this could be a career ending injury to his psyche.

Tywin Lannister said it best: Any man who must say, "I am the king" is no true king.

Edit: But yea a healthy Cavs team will destroy.

Well, except Aquaman

Keep listening to these people like we've never seen performances like this before

Michael Jordan in the 93 Finals.

G4 55 pts 8 rb 4 ast
G5 41 pts 7 rb 7 ast
G6 33 pts 8 rb 7 asr

Shaq in the 2000 Finals was pretty good

G6 41PTS 12 RB 4 BLK

I expected a Golden State wins first NBA championship thread in 40 years on gaf but we have a thread on pointing out a losing record for an all time great.

He is a good player, but not the greatest, and no king of the NBA. Jordan went 6-0 in his finals, tearing teams up in the process. He never lost and that will always make him better, even if James miraculously ends up with 7 titles.

It's weird he hasn't won a championship for his hometown IN HIS FIRST YEAR? You're close because he willed the team to two victories. The FIRST NBA FINALS VICTORIES in franchise history. The salt from Miami fans watching the finals from their couch is hilarious. Cavs fans sent you postcards from our completely full sports bars.

Melo has yet to reach an NBA finals period so the comparison doesn't hold up. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Has a single player ever finished an NBA Finals series as the leader in all the top 3 statistical categories (points/rebounds/assists?)

Jordan comparisons stop for a couple of reasons. The west today is better than anything Jordan dealt with. Lebron is a far superior player to MJ historically and this series proved it. This Cavs team led by Jordan loses in a complete sweep to the Warriors.
Seriously I know getting this far and losing is tough, no one likes to experience it as a fan but take a step back and be a little more level-headed, Lebron is good, great even. When the history is written of him he will be a unanimous generational player. One of the all time greats. And before it is all said and done he may make a push for the top spot. However as of right now he is not the greatest of all time. That coming from someone that has defended him a lot in the past and recently but also someone that doesn't downplay Jordan either. Who despite his team and coach managed to dominate in an era where guards just didn't dominate like that because of the physicality, the way the game was called and the rules.

Yep, but we've never seen a performance a great as LBJ's in the Finals, like ever!

If James finishes with 7 titles with a few in Cleveland I would definitely put him above MJ. At least MJ with his killer instinct and all always had Scottie on all his runs.

IDK about that. Jordan being on the floor would have meant Shumpert and JR would have stayed off of it meaning they would have been a much better team.

The Pistons kicked his ass multiple times. Who gives a shit if it wasn't in the finals? Losing in the finals is better than losing earlier in the playoffs.

Shaq was a beast in general during the Lakers 3 peat.

2001 Finals - 33 points, 15 rebounds, 3.4 blocks, 57.3 FG%
2002 Finals - 36 points, 12 rebounds, 2.8 blocks, 59.5 FG%

And Boston kicked Lebrons ass multiple times.

Honestly these Jordan comparisons gotta stop. It's not even fair.

And then he beat them, and the torch was passed forever.

LeBron had to switch teams to beat his Pistons, which was the Celtics.

I'm not saying Bron is better than Jordan, I'm saying that a perfect record in the finals is meaningless. 7 championships will always be greater than 6 championships no matter how many losses there are.

Kobe > LeBron, let's be real.

LeBron has better stats, and better personal achievements/accolades (awards). Kobe has more rings, but Shaq was kind of there for the first three. Then kind of got saved by Gasol (granted LeBron got saved by Ray Allen so I'll wash that one).

I don't see how LeBron rank lower than Kobe when it's all said and done. I think he's in the Magic/Bird zone right now. Which is basically 3 to 6 in all time ladder. I don't think it's possible for him to catch MJ at this point.

The two finals losses with the Cavs has more to do with LBJ having a rag tag supporting cast than it does with his play. They couldn't win a game without him carrying the team on his back.

Did anyone seriously think the Cavs were going to win against the Spurs or Warriors with the team that surrounded James? 22 years old and leading the Cavs to the finals. Losing your two best supporting players and playing the best regular season team in the NBA.

The two losses in the Finals with the Heat he can take more blame for because he had his team and they simply got beat including James playing like ass against the Mavericks.

LeBron is a better player than Kobe. I say that as someone who has Kobe on the top of his favorite players of all time list. If you had a chance to draft either guy at the age of 18 and build your team around them you take LeBron. There are very few guys you put ahead of him in that regard.

is there anything wrong with lebron wanting to play with good players instead of trash?
Is there anything wrong with pointing out that LeBron had to jump ship to another star's franchise and form a superteam before he could win anything? Is there anything wrong with pointing out that even that couldn't get it done in 2 out of 4 NBA finals?

Those last couple Cavs teams weren't exactly trash either. Two 60 win seasons.

LEBRON JAMES: Well, of course you question it, especially when you get to this point. I always look at it would I rather not make the playoffs or lose in The Finals? I don't know. I don't know. I've missed the playoffs twice. I lost in The Finals four times. I'm almost starting to be like I'd rather not even make the playoffs than to lose in The Finals. It would hurt a lot easier if I just didn't make the playoffs and I didn't have a shot at it.

I think the Mavs serious is the biggest WTF of LeBron's career. Getting fuckin checked by Jason Kidd. It's also the one that I would put the most blame on him out of the 4 loss.

Still, pretty impressive to see him in 5 straight Finals appearance, and quite possibly another Finals appearance next year if Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving and Varejao are all 100% healthy. Will go down as a top-5 or top-10 player of all time when all is said and done.
East so not really impressive honestly.also you cant be top 10 with only 2 rings.

Did Mo Williams not make the all-star team that year?

Did Dwight not beat LeBron's 66 win team the year before with a less than stellar supporting cast of his own?

More like Mike Brown's dumb ass didn't know how to coach against throw the ball into Dwight and kick it out for 3's.... I mean we only saw Houston won 2 championship with it. It's not like something the world has never seen before. /s

I'm def not salty. You on the other hand.....

Heat=3 rings
Cleveland=0 rings
Those are the facts right now

Lebron won those and your team spent an entire season bitching about the fact that he left. Entire fanbase threw shade at Lebron during this run making fun of him at the same time wishing he led their team to the finals. This season is a permanent mark on the Heat and fanbase moving forward. He left your team and you guys need to get over it. Please worship the Cavs some more.

Cavs 2015 NBA finals wins = 2
Heat 2015 = enjoying 2 bottles of win on a couch watching the NBA finals.

Jordan couldn't get past any of the great teams in the 80's, retired before facing championship run Rockets, and never won an NBA title without Scottie Pippen. Bill Russell is better than Jordan but that's another post word to 11 chips. I bring that up to point out rings are the only thing Lebron haters hold on to and utterly dismiss Russell's 11. Two is closer to six than six is to 11. Don't even get me started on how those Jordan teams stack up against Western conference teams in the present era. I won't derail this post by obliterating all of this senseless hate against Lebron in the form of Jordan worship.

Lebron is the greatest and this run with what amounts to a collection of role players proves it. Look at his averages this series and ask yourself how many games your favorite superstar wins in the NBA finals against the Golden State Warriors.

where is killa cam when you need him.

Actually, I'm happy. Everyone else throwing shade is mad especially a certain Floridian fanbase. It's really love disguised as hate in the form of high sodium content posters. Dudes bring up Jordan less than 12 hours after a finals loss to try to besmirch the King's name, LOOOOOOLL.

My team won two NBA finals games. Anyone else outside of the NBA champion warriors and their fans CAN CRY ON A PILLOW WATCHING THE WARRIORS CELEBRATION.

Raise your hand if you had the Cleveland Cavaliers making the NBA finals yet alone winning two games prior to the start of the season. I'll wait.... We won two games with our backup point guard and collection of role players. Not taking away from Golden State and their finals victory at all.

*EDIT*

By no means am I besmirching Kobe. Refuse to participate in the Kobe vs Lebron agenda argument until Lebron starts to decline. Then we can talk about it. However, Lebron plays for my team is a product of Cleveland. We claim him like Detroit claims Eminem. Remember this every time insert fan shows love to Lebron yet shits on Cleveland.

Sure, let's. Make your argument.

The LeBron system isn't conducive to winning at the highest level. Dude dominates the ball enough to rack up volume assist totals to go with his volume scoring, but the offense usually looks terrible. Guy puts up empty stats in a system that isn't sustainable against a great team.

On the intangibles side, he's a pretty poor leader.

Kobe did what he needed to do, sacrificing his assist totals for better team ball movement, and taking all the end of the clock shots that also tanked his FG%. He picked his spots a lot better and got a lot more out of his teammates.

A cursory reading of the stat sheet isn't enough to really demonstrate the difference between the two.

I want LeBron to just go to the Warriors now (let's do some minimum fuckery with money) and just win 3-5 straight.
