so with bill dying in this DLC is there any speculation on who will replace him in future releases?

I think the point-blank charges only fail if you use them immediately after spawning. Its sort of there to give survivors a heads up on the presence of a charger, similar to how you can't boom immediately after spawning.

Nope, there are plenty of times when you can do a point blank charge immediately after spawning and there are tons and tons of time that a charger has spawned in well before a charge only to hit an invisible wall because he was too close when be began. It's terrible and inconsistent.

Cheese mints are up!

Supreme Sacrifice: Complete "The Sacrifice".
Chaos Generator: Have all 3 generators running at once in "The Sacrifice" finale.
Barrel Rolled: Kill a Special Infected with an exploding barrel.
Kill Bill: Have Bill sacrifice himself for the team.
Sacrifizzle: As a Special Infected, incap someone who is trying to sacrifice themselves.

Barrels? Something new?

How did you guys feel about The Passing? I'm wondering if this campaign will be much better stand-alone than it or maybe just "complete it" in a way.

I hope this will feel more meaningful and consequential as an experience than The Passing. I thought Valve handled The Passing really poorly...after several months of hyping "the return of the L4D cast", you ended up seeing them for less than a minute at the tail end of a fairly dull and uninteresting 3 map campaign, Bill is already dead and none of the characters seem to care, and the whole thing felt pretty pointless and like Valve didn't want to put in too much work.

Fortunately, this seems much better...they've finally incorporated the original characters into the improved gameplay of L4D2, the comic backstories are actually really great, and not only flesh out the character's history (which I think Valve takes somewhat seriously; I don't think L4D is meant to be a parody), but also the world.
Turns out the survivors are actually carriers for the infection, which was implied but is now established, which makes them kind of monsters themselves--very cool.

And most importantly, they seem to be making Bill's death actually befitting for such a beloved character.

Wait, if L4D2 hits Mac on Tuesday, does that mean we get Alien Swarm soon, as well? :O

In the game any character can sacrifice themselves... in true canon, Bill is the sacrifice.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I was gonna say every infected in versus would just go after Bill in the finale.

goodbye Bill don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Haven't touched either game for some time now, gonna have to find that xbox disc somewhere.

L4D2 was a joke. 50€ for a bigger DLC?

Are you fucking stupid or something? The fucking game had new features, new maps, new weapons, new fucking characters for both sides and you think it's just a bigger DLC? By that way of thinking, fucking MW2 is a bigger DLC for MW1 too. As is every sequel released this gen.

BIGGER DLC
L4D2 feels like L4D1, plays like L4D1. Only improvement : Melee weapons.
The rest is bullshit. Annoying characters, shitty level design, useless SI (camper free game now? LOL spitter comes... just go 2 feet away and everything is fine, charger? just shoot on him with your friends and everything is fine), weapons are nearly the same (wow this gun has burst fire and it has 40 bullets... awesome... not) etc etc etc

L4D2 doesn't feel anything like L4D1. And most certainly does NOT play like L4D1. L4D1 was a melee spam fest to kill SI. L4D2 is not.

Also about the infected, it's your fault for playing against AI or shitty players. Play some people who don't suck at the game.

People actually give a damn about ANY of the L4D characters? :lol

The TF2 characters have more personality!
You know what's hilarious. The characters of both titles seem more memorable than anything I played in the last 2 years. Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Gears, etc...

Some thing about them.

But from narrative standpoint, only Bill sacrificing would make sense :p

I mean, why would Francis or Zoey do it? I can see Louis stepping forward, but Francis? No way :lol

Hey, I'm thinking of getting this game for Steam OS X. Does it allow inter-platform multiplayer, i.e. can I play with friends on Xbox 360?
No, not on 360, but you can play with PC gamers.
