Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword E3 trailer

That's discipline if I ever saw it. :P

Hey, makes gaming that much better not letting silly hype get in the way.

Of course I have exceptions like Pokemon mainline games that I hype myself up for.

I have a feeling that this game will be a bittersweet experience for me. Looking ahead to the Wii U, I have a feeling that the emphasis for the next Zelda will be on the HD graphics and touchscreen interface, and not about motion controls. It would be ironic if this turns out to be the game that really shows the benefits of motion controls and then Nintendo goes in another direction.

Sony can just copy it for the Move then.

Skyward Sword will definitely be a forerunner to motion control games that matter. But first we're just gonna get poor copies (see: Medieval Moves)

My first TP save was 55 hour, and I didn't get all the hearts or anything like that.

It was a super long, very well paced game. I loved it. Gonna replay it very soon.

That would really be the final blow, after Xenoblade and The Last Story going to EU and getting Skyward Sword in August?

Its apparent NoE loves the people more than NoA does. Though they said Holidays 2011, August isn't holiday time.

If it's really so close to release, wouldn't there already be a cover/boxart?

Miyamoto exalts each of his Zelda games as better than what was before it, doesn't he? But each, instead of being "better" than the other, is usually just very different from its predecessors with a few steps forward and a few steps backward in different aspects.

Wasn't all the buzz about Twilight Princess before release something like "30-50 HOUR LONG GAME OMG"? Hahahaha.

Personally this sounds like the best Zelda game ever...but I can't let the hype carry me into the stratosphere. For all I know, everything they've told us is a gross hyperbole. :P
I agree with the first paragraph. However, maybe I lived in some bizarro world but I thought the average player finished Twilight Princess in about 30-50 hours(some outliers like those who said they finished it in 25 and those who said it took 70+). Obviously, multiple play throughs the length gets cut down because players know what they have to do but they weren't exactly lying about that.

It's funny because Zelda took me ~20ish hours to beat and there were no real sidequests besides that horrible Goron one.
We must be playing different games or you're really good. On average the game for most took anywhere between 30 to 50 hours depending on the player. There were a few sidequests in particular if anyone felt like doing things such as collecting all of the hearts, bugs or poes and other things like the cave of ordeals. However, even without those I'd say the game was pretty long.

If you are talking about TP then you are a lying liar from Liarsville, Wyoming.

I'm gonna have to check my save. It might have been at 25 but I was nowhere close to 30 hrs if I remember correctly.

Oh? People took 30-50 hours? Wtf?

Woah Woah... august? Welp.. Time to buy an EU Wii I guess (Can't believe I just said that).

Homebrew it bro. I refuse to mod my systems to play games companies wont bother to bring over, but if you're not like me you should probably choose the free method of unlocking multi-region compatibility.

I don't how anyone could take 60 hours. I did it in under 30, with heart pieces pushing me past 30. Even with Poe hunting I doubt I'd go over 50, much less 60.

I like taking in the scenery of games, and I usually take my time. My P3/P4 saves are both at about 140 hours for just one playthrough.

Well I spent like 30 hours just goofing around on the Spinner. Funnest Zelda item ever.

Speedruning a first playthrough of a Zelda game is like rushing an orgy with Scarlett Johansen and Natalie Portman.

You

just

dont

do

it!

I'm gonna take my sweet, sweet time with SS. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

I'm the type of player to just wiggle the analog and go in circles every couple minutes/zoom in on textures/stand in place and think about unrelated things for no particular reason. Every dungeon took me 5-6 hours.

Maybe I have ADD.

Follow the directions exactly as they are, and you should have zero problems. If you decide to do it, and get confused, just post in that thread.

There's always a chance that super mario is the misprint, not Skyward Sword ;).

I have to agree. That first play through is an immaculate experience that you must cherish.

But if it does come out in August, I need to get that shit done before school starts. UGH!

E3 finally sparked my interest for this game. I love Zelda. It's a great series but the blandness of TP diminished a lot of my hype for SS. The further away from TP this game is, th better.

The orchestral score alone is a big plus. Going back to colorful/ cel-shaded art is another plus too.

Same. I would have finished my Japanese playthrough of FFXIII in an even shorter time if I hadn't spent so much time looking around. Same goes for Tales of Graces F (half of the time was spent leveling up aliases and looking around) and a whole slew of RPGs and Adventure games.

My first TP save is... 56 hours. Half of which was spent running around and looking at stuff (especially in Lake Hylia) and playing around with the spinner. Also, fishing.

Well, I try not to get hyped by not looking at streams/gameplay/impressions and such, but I just... can't... resist...!

What's the link to the UK press site actually?

Finally getting excited again.

Got to say it took awhile, not a fan of the art style or the call back to the Wind Waker art, just wasn't a fan.

However the adult Link, sweet looking gameplay and Cute Zelda (?) finally has me won over.

As for TP, took me in between 35-40 hours the first time if I remember correctly.

August would be a wonderful surprise, but that can't be accurate. It's Wii's last real title that we know of. I doubt it will come out any time before this November.

But they have Mario Party 9 and Wii play motion if they want to increase holiday sales. Now I'm not saying that they are going to just depend on this but it's still possible.. I hope.

45ish hours. Honestly, I felt that Twilight Princess was too long, if anything. Cut out the boring first couple of hours and the wolf parts and it'd be my favorite Zelda game.

It's amazing how NoE has turned itself around this generation, holy shit..they were awful up until the DS's launch. Although August seems too good to be true but I wouldn't be surprised if this game was finished as it is.

OH GOD WHY DIDN'T I REALIZE THIS

The dude who looks like Rauru. He lives in a bird civilization. Rauru becomes a sage. Rauru is the owl. THIS GUY MUST BE AN OWL

it makes too much sense
