Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword E3 trailer

Game looks terrible 0/10.

The same old Zelda formula

A rental for the super fans, everyone else can safely pass this by.

"The other thing that we did with the Zelda series is we intend to create the game in way that the player has a tremendous amount of freedom in terms of the things that they’re able to do. As they explore the world and discover things and try to play the game in different ways, there are little thing sprinkled throughout the world that will reward them for that. I do think that the notion of following a story perhaps pushes people towards that normal progression of the game. What I’ll say about Skyward Sword is that there’s a tremendous amount of places you can go and things you can do in that game. It’s very open world, and I would encourage everyone to go and explore every nook and cranny of that game as well."

No keep platforming out of Zelda unless it's the Roc's cape. Link doesn't need to play like Mario.

Since it clearly hurt Link's Awakening. And Zelda Oracles of Ages/Seasons. And Minish Cap.

Jumping is quite normal when someone is going on an adventure. Actions (especially ones that are normal, and people do everyday) would work just fine in Zelda. The jumping in Zelda feels unnatural to be honest. I hit an invisible wall everytime I want to jump (since it's not perfectly straight) and have to push against its gravitational push in order for it to trigger a jump. Come on please don't argue that the way jump is implemented couldn't be improved in the game. It's almost like waiting for a Bayonetta QTE to trigger before you can jump, without the contextual button appearing.

This game will probably look great on dolphin. Might scale like Wind Waker.

I was wondering, does Dolphin need specific updates/patches to run new games? Or does it just generally work?

I think I might play it on Wii first (incase there are glitches with Dolphin), then do a second run with Dolphin.

It should work right away on Dolphin, and Nintendo games are usually coded pretty well to work on it (oddly enough).
Though, your mileage may vary.

New builds are released quite frequently, and sometimes already released games run better on older builds than newer ones.

In my experience, it has not been the quickest/easiest process of emulation.

This will be the first time that I'm actually motivated to save Zelda because I like her, as opposed to just the promise of getting to cave Ganon's face in for the umpteenth time.

What, you think Nintendo can't do that? :P
Well, they could, but...

Yeah, SS's Zelda is definitely the best already (well, besides WW, but that doesn't count since she sucked after
she stopped being awesome Terra and started being boring Zelda.
)

Yup. She should've just
let her hair down and kept her pirate attire and attitude.
Would've been so much better.

So you know wtf is up with Tetra's tan? Does the Triforce suck the melanin out of your body cuz it doesn't seem to do anything to Ganon?

It's magic, they ain't gotta explain shit.

She really was
better with the tan, though.

You got Final Fantasy in my Zelda, Mr. Bandage.

That just won't do.

Phantom Zelda was pretty likeable in terms of personality.

Carefree Zelda seems pretty cool though.

Why are you guys spoiler marking that stuff? The game is ooooooollllddd.
There are still people playing OoT for the first time. You never know.

The best of the Celdas is Spirit Zelda. Ghosts/spirits are kewl.
Except for the whole obnoxious bitch thing. It's too bad that you can't punch ghosts in the face.

Whoops!
:P

But, yeah.
It's hard to hate a girl that would just randomly jump off a floating island for a good time.

I'm hyping for this game so hard! So hard in fact I'm doing everything Zelda, playing the games, and lately watching the animation. Yes its bad, cheesy bad. I remember watching this when I was 12. :P

"Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me Princess!"

I didn't hate Phantom's Zelda, but she never really clicked with me, I guess...

But that's the second best part!
Your opinions continue being wrong.

I see you haven't seen Other M's concept art :(

Samus is a classy lady and I will never forgive Team Ninja for butchering her.

that is so cute (and not "generic-animu-cute"). I'm really liking Zelda's design on this game.

MAI WAIFU
Haha, the classic anime designs are one of the best parts about the art style. From a time when anime was far more inspired. I love it.

TP Zelda is best Zelda.

I've met them all, so I should know.
Eh, never was a fan of the whole "brooding princess with a dark secret" thing.
