Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword E3 trailer

Please this. It's too bad that she gives link the Harp, because they probably could've done something cool with that.
Princess Zelda never got the magic spells from Ocarina of Time yet she used them in Smash. There might still be a chance!

Looking at all the footage so far for this game and I wonder if Nintendo is going to pull the same stunt advertising it as they have with OoT3D so far in the U.S., by using CG instead of showing any actual gameplay.

I say that because, even though I'm looking forward to the game, visually in a TV commercial I can see how it would maybe be better not to show actual footage. What some people call "art style" others call shitty graphics and... yeah I don't know if I'd be showing this is all.

Eh?
They show game footage in the REAL OoT3D commercial.

Does anyone else get the feeling that one of the plot twists is going to be that the people of Skyloft are hiding some secret?

Why is the the Tri-Force almost over her crotch?

They are likely gonna just keep her old moves and give her a SS styled Sheik form
:/

How is an island floating in the sky anyways? I think perhaps someone made a wish using the triforce to separate themselves from Hyrule. Or maybe the Triforce itself is hidden inside Skyloft and the people on the ground are killing each other searching for it. I could see a situation where kidnapping Zelda would just be a ruse to get all the skyloftian warriors away from the city so the dark interlopers/wizards could invade.

Giant Magnetic Lodestone.

Ask Knuckles.

1. They used CG in the OoT ad because they used CG in all their 3DS ads so far.

2. You've proved yourself to be quite the character already. Well done.

We can only hope.

Huh? The only stuff I've seen for OoT so far has been gameplay...

I wouldn't be surprised if she, at the end, gets a royal costume. And that would end up being her costume in Smash.
Ugh, how terrible would that be. I like her current clothes a lot. Maybe if it's some ancient variation on the costume, that'd be kinda cool.

If they're hiding anything, it's that a long time ago they probably chose to place themselves "above" most people, and abandoned the surface world to rot.

So we might actually get to see what Skyward Sword looks like in HD.
Well, at least how the characters would look. I assume you're not counting Dolphin?

It takes Courage and Power to enter that valley of Wisdom.
Well done.

Well unlike Dolphin they'd probably have to develop the characters (and maybe stages!) for HD instead of what Dolphin does.

Clearly, Hyrule is rich in unobtainium.

Ace's answer was better. *salute to Gulliver's Travels reference*

Anyone else think this game has been partially influenced by Mario Galaxy? I've been speculating about that for a while before the new trailers and news was even released. I hope we get some puzzles or boss battles involving moving spheres.

I don't know, this image kind of reminded me of the galaxy games.

We've already got sphere walking sequences!

So is the whip item still in?

That was one of my favorite items in ST
It should still be in but I really didn't like the way it moved from footage and I think it works better for touch games. But whatever.

Yeah, the whip was shown last E3. What is really interesting is that both the Slingshot and Bow and Arrow are in this game.
I wonder what advantages each will have when upgraded.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Chrono Trigger
Skies of Arcadia
Super Mario 64
Gulliver's Travels
etc.

The island has a giant magnet beneath that's being repelled by the magnets on the ground.
That must be why planes can't reach the place. All those magnets make the plane all screwy.

I was thinking something more like this. Where a boss makes a giant sphere out of the ground and throws it at you. Link would have to jump on it and navigate through it. I get all my ideas from manga!

Well I was just saying that the game already has some Galaxy inspirations.

I can't believe I never realized that. Isn't there also a part of the game where Link can jump off his bird and onto small round "islands" floating in the sky?

Yeah, I'm getting a huge Skies vibe from this game.

Probably why my hype-meter is off the charts.

If we don't see Link's dad in game, it becomes Vyse by default.

I really hope this game gives zelda something such that we can steer away from the OOT style attacks for the next ssb.

Toon Zelda, focuses on magic and archery and instead of turning into Sheik she possesses a Phantom.

Link's... parents...?
My mind would explode.
:O

Someone demoing at E3 said that but they never actually showed it. :P

I hate Kiera Knightly in Pirates of the Carribean but she looks more "warrior princess-y" than that Zelda design.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Compared to a lot of warrior princesses, yeah, TP Zelda is pretty tame (especially in video games).

As far as Zelda designs go, though, she's the most outwardly aggressive other than Sheik and
Tetra
(if they count as "princesses" at that point).

We will never see Link's parents, ever.

Pretty sure the reason NoA are filling all their 3DS ads with CG is that they're worried about how the in game graphics will look on an HDTV. 3DS games are pretty damn low resolution.
