I think it was more hilarious seeing these fools, that claimed to understand the characters and manga, genuinely think Sasuke would cheat on his wife with a girl he has never liked, continue living in marriage with his wife and letting her raise the kid.
They even got cocky about it, till it blew up in their faces and they had to make themselves feel better by saying Kishi didn't have the balls. Lads please, don;t blame the author for your stupidity.

Actual development tends to do that.
Naruto and Sasuke weren't developed enough for it to be believable, to the point where Sasuke himself asks why the hell is Naruto bothering with him when they barely knew each other. Of course, the series glides by that little point and Naruto keeps chasing Sasuke.

Yeah, but it is completely one-sided on Naruto's part for most of the story. Naruto and Sasuke's relationship like a bad abusive relationship. Gon and Killua's relationship is so much better especially since they both care about each other and act like it.
just for the record, Killua is the overprotected assassin heir of the super assassin family and Gon is the estranged child of a super archeologist raised in the wild.
Their relationship is better written than anything in Bleach and Naruto.
Just think about that for a second.
The best parts of Naruto is when the manga gets self aware like that part where Sasuke asks why the fuck does Naruto cares so much or why the fuck is Sakura so fucking clingy.
That's not really the reason why it happened though. Saving his life isn't really the reason for that awful event. It was because of the thought of unburdening him of the promise of a lifetime he called. But the truth is he was doing it not because of the promise, but because he really wants to bring back his "brother".
Every relationship with Sasuke is an abusive one. Every single one of them.

He is teaching his best friend's son so that he will protect his daughter who will end up becoming Hokage meaning the Uchiha end up ruling Hidden Leaf like Madara always wanted.

Pre timeskip they had a bit of a thing going.
Skypiea Arc, vs Enel, Enel shoots Robin and Zoro catches her, angrily admonishing Enel "She's a woman!" This is kind of out of character for Zoro as established so far, given that he showed no concern with women to that point (like being one of the only Straw Hats, along with nonhuman Chopper, to not peep on Nami and Vivi at the baths in Alubarna. Even Luffy looked there).
Davy Back Arc: Zoro's the one who moves first to save Robin from Aokiji.
Enies Lobby: It was Kaku's key that opened Robin's handcuffs.
Thriller Bark: Robin listens in when two of the rescued pirates explain to Sanji what Zoro did with Kuma.
Sabaody: Robin tries to save Zoro from Kizaru, had him in her arms when Kizaru was about to kill him before Rayleigh intervened.

And post time skip he saves her from being slashed and poisoned by hyouzou and from being crushed by pica. He's the first one to attack Monet after she stabs robin. And robin stops him from being crushed by the pressure on the way to fishman island

I think they both had some decent male characters and a few decent story arcs in the beginning of each series, but yeah you're damn right on the female characters. Kishi and Kubo can't write good female characters for shit in this world. And the back 40% of Naruto and Bleach were basically trash, not even counting the fanfic tier endings.
Thing is, Sakura kept moving towards genuine character growth and development as a person, then it all crashed and burned at the last minute. And it happened over and over and over. Everytime it looked like Kishimoto had learned his lesson, he went and made all the same mistakes again.
That Naruto one with both confirmed main pairings was something. Man, that was brutal. RIP Sakura's character is all I'll say. Hinata got her man. Naruto got someone who truly cares about him. Sasuke got someone who could look after his child while he does God knows what.
Sakura ended up in a horrible situation. Shit, this series really fucked her character up at the end of the day lmao. It's like all 3 of them ended up in better situations EXCEPT Sakura lol.

Can we just uncanon all of 02. Man looking back its easily the worst or second worst digimon show since freaking Xros Wars part 2 exists. They can fight for bottom place I guess.
Surprised a lot of people don't mention this but Inuyasha had a vocal community thanks to all the Fanfiction. Until Naruto came along, Inuyasha had the most fanfics on the website excluding non anime stuff like Harry Potter. Of course there was a huge smut content purge which removed a shit ton of fics too lol. The salt and meltdowns from that was pretty crazy.
Anyways long story short for Inuyasha, some people wanted Kagome to ditch Inuyasha for his elder brother Sesshoumaru and there was a minor group of Kouga fans and some Naraku fans with Kagome. Kikyo was the Sakura Haruno of fanfiction due to lots of people hating her but her and Inuyasha fics were pretty high too with the love triangle and everything. Poor Rumiko Takahashi could never escape the ship wars for any of her mangas lol.
Gundam can get pretty bad with shipping but it helps that the guy to girl ratio is so large that most of it is just Yaoi bait between all the girls and some guys that read that stuff and they don't fight much over it besides saying one dude is better with another dude over the opposing ship.
I'll try and think of more but meltdowns and salt weren't too common in the early 90s due to social media not being as prevalent or existing for that matter. The cesspool that is tumblr is still scary to me after all these years. I like some pairings but the cringe from seeing some of the shrines people make....... Though being honest, there are some really nice ones that don't make you want to gouge your eye out.
