Not just NaruSaku fans but also SasuNaru fans. Some shippers are the same, like how NaruHina fans got butthurt that Kishi's wife shipped NaruSaku and started hating on her, or tried using bots to cheat in a popularity contest for a video game.

Well, Kishi always said he didnt want to write romance and it shows. He never focused on it at any time till the end (where he reveals he killed Neji to push naruhina). It wasn't his intent to push for pairings on the series, he just see it as a mean to introduce a new generation to show the passing of time.
The only romance who actually got a shot was naruhina and it needed it. Unfortunately, the movie half assed it. I think Hinata's was well worked anyway. Naruto following in love with her after seeing her fellings (again!) was tough.

Basically all fan ships are bad until it becomes canon. Then it's bad but with support.
Personally I'm glad that Sasuke and Sakura happened and not Naruto And Sakura. I just don't feel comfortable with Naruto being a consolidation prize.

Yes, but part of his development is that he accepts he has to let her go because it's just not gonna happen.
However he never actually shows interest in Pacifica, in fact he is pretty harsh on her due to how awful she had been to Mabel.
Neither am I with the thought of Naruto having to go through all that shit just to make Sakura finally fall in love with him. Sakura should've been single or got with some random tbh, but oh well, as others have said, her and Sasuke deserve each other.

True, though I do think he looks exactly like Naruto for marketing reasons. Genetics is...weird so who knows who he'd really take after, then again that Uzumaki clan DNA is weak sauce since there are no physical characteristics of Kushina in Naruto. Even Sarada has shades of both her parents. Also seems like Hima is the Hyuga DNA kid.

I don't know if it's been posted, but get a load of the Hall of Anal Devastation. Compilation of over 500 posts during the NaruSaku meltdown. Experiencing it live was really one of my favorite experiences on the internet.
Having taken part in the ship wars on the Naruofan forums, it was all to sweet to see what was obvious to just about everyone except them. The single best point was probably the album cover reveal, and then the leak of Bort and Himawari. People even tried to say the leak was fake here on GAF.
But yeah this album cover.
The Hiashi memes that resulted are a goldmine as well.
And honestly, regarding Sarada as Karin's daughter could've been done well, and even done to make Sakura out as a good character. Say Sasuke only slept with Karin as a means to ensure some sort of heir, but she dies in childbirth. Sakura takes her in and raises her as her own, knowing that Sasuke has unfinished business outside the village. Sasuke eventually returns and they have their own Pink haired Uchiha spawn. Boom you get a whole message about how it's not your birth parents that define you but who raise you, blah blah meaning of family, etc. Instead Sasuke's just an absent father and Sakura overreacts to everything. Kishimoto is a hack.

This thread made me realize there's probably Griffith/Casca shippers out there... Thankfully Berserk seems to lack many rabid fans like that. Although I could just imagine the salt mines if Guts and Casca don't get a happy or even a bittersweet ending together. But since it's Berserk who knows.

Casca/Griffith shippers are disgusting. Yeah berserk has made most people accept a dark end but until that day comes, guts/casca is the only right answer. Skull knight and his horse as well.
It wasn't till this topic did I know that I was also for IchiRuki too. I watched some old clips of Bleach and yeah they should have ended up together no doubt. Oh well.
Given that there's a greater than 0% chance that Berserk just doesn't end, I think there's a lot more people that'll be willing to accept whatever ending they get.

So it's been brought up a few times in this thread, but I wanna spell it out for the people who haven't seen it. Generally people being angry about shipping is misplaced, but I'm pretty certain the writers of Thundercats 2011 purposely bred a shipping war.
Lion-O in the 2011 reboot of Thundercats got the rawest fucking deal. Lion-O starts out the series being berated by his Dad, and treated like shit by his brother Tygra. (Mainly for not being a huge racist by the way.) Putting aside how Lion-O is nearly killed by his brother twice, does get killed once, and ends up in despair in the finale of the show, Lion-O loses in the game of love twice. The first time to his brother, almost immediately after his brother tried to kill him. (Said brother never experiences any consequences for this.)
This needless to say, made shippers pretty mad. Tygra was never likable, and the writers pulled the filmiest excuse out their asses to have Cheetara fall in love with him. There was no buildup to it, and Lion-O literally stumbles upon them in the act of making out. This is after an entire season of Lion-O and Cheetara flirting. (Coincidentally, after this Cheetara basically became a background character.) Needless to say, people were angry.
But then they introduced Pumyra in season 2.
And shippers were happy. Pumyra was cool, and bounced off Lion-O well. Then in the finale of the show, Pumyra betrays Lion-O. Not for a mysterious third party. Not for her own gain. To help Mumm-ra, the person literally responsible for killing her way back at the beginning of the show. The fact that Mumm-ra says Pumyra was literally his, body and soul, is also super weird. So Lion-O loses the second love of his life to an undead mummy.
Here, Pumyra is kissing Mumm-ra's "power gauntlet."
But wait, it gets worse for Lion-O! The show was cancelled after this due to poor toy sales, but apparently if the show had continued, Mumm-ra would have transformed Pumyra into a winged insect monster. She would later be killed by the Thundercats.
The Thundercat that would kill her?
Tygra.
The head writer for the series basically confessed in a message board that it was his plan to push Tygra as hard as possible by having everyone continually shit on Lion-O. Even went so far as to rage out at the people who called him out for that bullshit.
Thundercats Reboot is the ultimate example of shitty shipping due to shitty writing. CN did us all a mercy cancelling it, frankly.
It still sours me considering the fantastic animation and character designs, not to mention the really stellar episodes (which were NOT written by the Tygra self-insert, obviously).

It's just baffling from every conceivable angle, yet the proof is in the pudding: every character treats Lion-O like utter dogshit, most of the time for no justifable reason whatsoever. It's somehow even worse than the Sasuke bullshit.
