Not a big fan but still fucking sad.
RIP.
RIP.
^Apparently it was diagnosed only two days prior to his death.
Diagnosed sure, but he probably had it for a lot longer before getting checked out.
So..... what exactly where those lumps on his cheek anyway?
Yeah I am thinking the same thing. He didnt go to a doctor until it was way too late. Who knows. Probably not the best thing to talk about.
The fact he seemed to die so fast after his diagnosis is a reminder of that "here today, gone tomorrow" state of reality.
Cherish every moment for what it is, friends. You do not when dissolution is in the cards.
Yep, it can happen. My grandpa died in the early 90s, they diagnosed him on a Saturday and he was dead by that Tuesday.
RIP
I've never actually listened to much Motorhead beyond Ace of Spades but I love his contributions to Hawkwind
will seek out some moto today
Everyone will mention the early classics but don't miss out on the Lemmy/Phil Campbell/Mickey Dee stuff. By far the most prolific line-up of the band (12 albums together if you include Bastards and Sacrifice which also featured Wurzel) and all of it is great.will seek out some moto today
I'm guessing he probably had the cancer for around a year or something? Considering this is how he looked in 2014.

And then late 2014.

Motorhead is over, of course. Lemmy was Motorhead, Dee says. We wont be doing any more tours or anything. And there wont be any more records. But the brand survives, and Lemmy lives on in the hearts of everyone.
When I heard Lemmy had died, I was home at the tail end of a family Christmas celebration. I was speaking to a friend of mine yesterday who knows Motörhead's manager very well and he told me that things were not well and maybe I should consider going down to L.A. to see him and pay my respects. The cancer was very aggressive, and it was end stage and there probably wasn't a lot of time left. That was at 1 p.m. and then I guess I heard the news around 6 p.m. That was crazy.

Lemmy, you are one of the primary reasons this band exists. We're forever grateful for all of your inspiration. RIP

Todd Singerman said the former frontman was feeling unwell and went to hospital on December 15, two days after an early birthday party at a Los Angeles club
Doctors carried out brain scans as Kilmister's speech was "seeming a little odd" and it was feared he'd had a stroke,
Kilmister was released from hospital, before receiving his diagnosis days later.
"After the brain scan, they found the cancer in his brain and his neck ... The doctor comes with the result a couple of days later and says ... it's terminal," Singerman said.
"Nobody had any idea, we just learned Saturday, two days ago, that he even had cancer and the doctor told him he had between two to six months to live.
