Leonardo DiCaprio's best acted role?

Christian Bale would give him a run for his money. The thing is though, Bale is in more bad movies as well because he's not as picky as DiCaprio tends to be.

Oh, and my answer is The Departed, sorry fans of Asian cinema.

Just went to Bales IMDB. Your spot on, his highs are right there with him. Just too inconsistent and occasionally overshadowed. Only time I can think of Leo being overshadowed is Gangs of NY, and he was still great.

For me The Aviator.

It's honestly so hard to choose. Will probably go down as one of the most talented actors of all time. Personally i would say Aviator, Catch me if you can, and The Departed in that order.

I honestly wish Leo won an Oscar for Aviator. Not that The Revenant wasn't a good movie. He's just been in way better movies.

Yeah, as amazing as it was, Revenant definitely felt like "lets give him one".

I like a lot of his movies, even The Beach which is not considered to be good by critics. Blood Diamond is really entertaining. Also, The Wolf of Wall Street and even Romeo + Juliet is cool.

1. The Aviator
2. The Wolf of Wall Street
3. What's Eating Gilbert Grape
4. The Revenant
5. Django Unchained
6. The Departed
7. Catch Me If You Can
8. Basketball Diaries
9. Blood Diamond
10. Revolutionary Road

What a magnificent fucking actor. One for the ages.

Fuck. Dude has been in some good movies. One of my favorite movies of all time is The Departed...not seeing that mentioned a lot. The Titanic may not be popular anymore, but I remember people talking about his performance in that movie back in the day.

What's eating Gilbert Grape, absolutely. I also really liked him in the Revenant and Django.
And to be honest, I don't remember his performance at all in Catch Me If You Can - guess that movie didn't do anything for me. Any scene in that movie that displays his good acting?

Def my favorite movie of his, not even joking.

You're certainly not.

I like Leo a lot and I think he is a damn good actor though he sometimes misses in terms of being believable in a role.

That being said, he is fucking fantastic in What's Eating Gilbert Grape and should have gotten an oscar for that role a long time ago.

Kinda meh on the guy overall but I thought he was at his best in wolf of wall Street and aviator

He makes great movie choices but he's often upstaged by those around him. Gilbert Grape he was good in too. Would prolly put that third

Despite my opinion about him tho I still think him and Damon did a better job than the infernal affairs leads. Personally think departed is an improved remake

What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Leo was up there with Bale when it comes to phenomenal child actors. As an adult? I'd probably go with Django Unchained. He could have done his Wolf of Wall Street performance in his sleep, and he clearly put his heart and soul into The Revenant but there just wasn't enough material there. Catch me on the right day and I'd probably change my answer to The Aviator.

The only movie where he wasn't trying too hard and was in-character was What's Eating Gilbert grape.

Otherwise, his range is limited. He gives you the illusion of range but he's mostly playing the same neurotic character in different chords.

Oscars have been a joke since 10 years ago, Revenant was one of Leo's worst movies.

Catch me if you can, Departed, Wolf of Wall Street, Gangs of New York, Inception were all better performances as The Revenant.

Being a junkie in the Basketball Diaries sent chills down my spine when I watched it.

He must have hung out with some dope fiends for that.

Yes to this. He carries this film.

He's a fantastic actor. One I can't think has ever actually done a bad job.

Special mention to the improv on Django with the blood bit, although it's gross as fuck
