If I can only get one then GTA

But if I can do both Half-Life 3 first, it will take me what? 20 hours? Then I can do GTA for 300

As much as I find the idea of being able to play Half-Life 3 way more interesting than Grand Theft Auto VI, I don't see it even coming close to overshadowing Grand Theft Auto VI. There are literally 3 generations of people playing GTA V waiting for the next game. Half-Life isn't even really known anymore by the last two generations.

Sales wise GTA VI would destroy Half life 3. Which is a better game not sure but valve does not make bad games so..i also really liked alyx.
Half life was never this super gigantic seller, it would sell lots but not legendary amounts. L4D2 alone sold more than the entire HL franchise.

A HL3 would probably brake HL2's record but thats it.

Half Life 3 by a mile. For a long time HL2 was my favorite game off all time, while i'm kind of over GTA and may not even get the game when it comes to PC. Well probably will but i'll wait for it to be cheap.

HL 3 of course

Alyx was one of the best gaming experience I had the last decade. I fucking love Half Life lore.

GTA I always end up buying, play around a bit, janky ass gameplay, end up not finishing them. Last ones I finished were the PS2 trilogy, 4 and 5 nope.

GTA 6

Because its a fucking video game with a 2 Billion dollar budget and I genuinely don't think humans will ever see something like this again for a very long time.

You're weird to me if you're not getting GTA 6.

Even beyond the hype, it should represent the absolute peak of the medium on all fronts. The closest thing gaming has ever had to a true magnum opus.

I can say with confidence, you're not a fan of the medium if you can just skip the most ambitious and expensive game of all time.
Laughable post. So if Fifa 27 had a 2 bil budget, and it looked real, everyone should buy it?. What if i dont like football?.

Budget and scope etc means nothing if its for a game that doesnt interest you.

EDIT. Just saw your tag, 'representative of bad opinions' :messenger_tears_of_joy: that says it all really.

Cracking Up Lol GIF

This sounds like the same hype around Red Dead 2 and that game was complete shit from a mission design standpoint. I'm going to reiterate that 200 million gave you less options than Deus Ex to beat a mission but at least you got to stare at horse nuts shrinking in the snow - The absolute peak of video games, everyone!
Nah. The hype for RDR 2 was just regular hype. In fact, God of War 2018 had arguably more hype that year.

And a 200 million dollar budget is a far cry rom 2 BILLION.

A 2 Billion dollar budget will allow for things that are simply impossible in other games.

But FIFA doesn't have a 2 billion dollar budget so your hypothetical is pointless.

How the fuck do you not like GTA? It's a state of the art Open World crime simulator. Like come on, just weird.

And yes, in an OPEN WORLD game.. Budget and scope mean everything.

Not to mention that despite its insane production values, RDR2 controls like ass and its main mission design is straight out of the PS2 era.

That $1billion (and counting) worked great for Star Citizen.

Thanks for that, i have talked about this many times on here. RDR2 controls like ass, and not just the beginning but the whole game and mission structure feels dated.

I keep trying to play it over the years but after a few hours i'm always bored to tears.

same i am hoping the 60fps ps5 port will help with that

Okay, so your answer is you would buy GTA VI over the game you would actually rather play because two recent generations don't care about Half-Life?

Those developers are frauds.

You're comparing those devs (I dont even know their name) to Rockstar games, the studio that practically invented the Open World genre.

I just cant imagine having zero interest in what's undoubtedly going to be the ultimate example of what an Open World video game can be.

Well if you mean the controls, i play at 60fps and its still clunky as hell. Thats right though i forgot, its only 30fps on consoles. Holy moly if it controls so slow and clunky at 60fps, cant imagine waht its like at 30fps lol.

Half Life 3 and it's not even close. I was not a fan of GTA V at all and expect VI to be more of the same.

HL1&2 were excellent and I would expect HL3 to follow that pattern.

I'm going to seriously doubt were going to get things like I dunno, shooting a rocket launcher at a building, crumbling it and then watching it be rebuilt for like 3 weeks in game time or something, it just won't happen without insane amounts of feature creep and dev time.

And last reports this game was 750-800 million which makes more sense, that's an investment with return because it'll clear a billion the day of launch.

There's no way this game has systems that make us aw in disbelief. I do believe, though, if some of the rumors are true and there's drug dealing and seperate islands I can see there being lots of intricacies to that and underwater sections.

That's a list alright.

Star Citizen is lol. BG&E 2 is vaporware. I have zero expectations around ES VI after Fallout 4 and Starfield. I don't think Bethesda is physically capable of making good games anymore.

Not only that but whatever budget it is, i'm pretty sure a large slice of that will be going into the online part, which is Rockstar's real gravy train.

i think people expecting anything revolutionary in the SP will be mistaken imo.

People saying no to GTA 6 make me think of the guy staring down a super model who won't even look at him while he says "yeah, no way I'd fuck her". Deep in your souls, you know y'all want it.

I skipped GTAV and if this doesn't impress me with its gameplay I will skip this as well.

So far they showed me nothing other than cutscenes, what part of that am I supposed to be excited about?

Nah lol. I really loved the PS2 games, but i was like a teenager going into my 20's accross those 3 games.
4 i liked but i was already getting abit yeah its cool i suppose. And 5 i didnt really like that much, and never finished it.

GTA was 'cool' at one point, but it was never anything revolutionary, outside of 3 with its open world (which i suppose was revolutionary at the time).

I'm still hoping for my dream HL3/Alyx/Portal crossover preinstalled on the Steam Machine.
I mean the VA for gman posted and hinted something was coming. There was rumors of an unveiling along with new hardware surely there has to be SOMETHING right!?

Nah let's be real, Half Life 3 is the "Year of the Linux desktop" of gaming.

I think they'll be lots of world interaction but the local models we have for AI will need serious training to get the scope of what people are expecting. To me if it truly was a 2 billion dollar game I couldn't help but want to experience that, you'd be crazy not too. It's like being an IMAX fan and not seeing Avatar

Half Life, no contest. GTA VI will have a cool open world to mess around in but Rockstar's mission design hasn't been anything special for a long time and I don't think that's going to change with VI.

Open world games existed way before GTA. GTA3 might be the first fully 3D sandbox, but apart from that, it's not that revolutionary.

And when we talk about the perfect open-world game, Breath of the Wild and Elden Ring do exist you know.

People still believe in the HL3 dream?

I hate to be THAT guy, but its way past time to let Half Life go... :-(

We've been waiting for a new Half-Life game for a much shorter time than GTA. After all, Alyx came out 6 years ago.

Not to mention there's way too much smoke around HL3 now. More than it ever was. With the Steam Machine release right around the corner, I'm almost certain that Valve will put out some software along with it.

It's gonna be an Extraction Shooter in the Half Life universe and not HL3.
