I can't remember what game it was (Google says game 2 of the 1991 finals), but that Jordan shot where he started with his right hand and then moved the ball to his left for the layup.
We used to do that on the playground for years.
best part of 90s basketball?
NBC going to commercial. Dat theme song + fadeaway everytime.
Starks' dunk over Jordan and Horace Grant was called "The Dunk" - it's the gold standard of poster dunks in the 90s. To this day, you could even search for "the dunk" on Google and get the image as the first result. It used to be listed as the first entry under "dunk" or "basketball" in the Encarta encyclopedia too. lol.
Anyway, it's too hard to pick my favorite 90s NBA moment, but I'll just go with The Dunk because it's such a seminal thing. Second would be defeating the Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals in 1994; Scottie Pippen storming off salty with seconds left in the last game will live in my heart forever. <3
This thread makes me angry how shitty the NBA is nowadays.
Thats was the 00s.Kenny Skywalker, at the time, brought a lot of controversy from the young-uns at the time who thought he was better than Jordan because he had 2-3 dunks that were really all the same. Plus, the rest of his game left a lot to be desired.
Was it the 90s when the Kings were the shit w/ Webber, J will, Divac... they were the most exciting team I've ever seen to this day. People don't realize that there was a time when the original J Will was one sick motherfuckin passer.
The NBA in the 1990's was a magical time. So many great players. Even the big men could hit 15 foot jump shots. This was the NBA at it's finest.
My family was fortunate enough to share season tickets to the bulls from the late 80's through the late 90's. I got to experience so many of those great Bulls moments, including Jordan in his prime. Pretty amazing memories.
and how I thought Kevin Johnson was like the best player in the league that was just on a subpar team.
Yeah seriously, this image is burned into my head:

T Dollarz totally summed up 90s basketball.
They call fewer fouls today than in the 90s, and shoot fewer free throws than in the 90s.Ah, the era where a defensive player could actually touch an offensive player and not get called for a foul.
Today a guy gets breathed on and they're blowing the whistle. It is why I stopped watching years ago.
Holy shit my friends and I still laugh about that to this day.Kendall Gill's guest appearance on My Brother and Me.
