Let's Settle This: What Does "Hookup" Mean To You?

This burning question has been all the kerfuffle on my dorm's floor, so riddle me this:

Does "hooking up" with someone mean making out or getting yo D wet?

I adamantly argue that "hooking up" with someone means that the transaction was not merely saliva. It seems that it might be a colloquial meaning, or according to where one grew up. Anyway, please help me with this problem, this argument has been raging on for months, and this senseless violence must end.

As far as hooking up, it's pretty much synonymous with getting laid, although usually more in a "friends with benefits" sense than a "one night stand"/"hit it and quit it" sense, although not strictly so.
 
Hooking up is more than kissing and less than dating..

So hooking up for me is anywhere in-between makeout session(with groping) all the way to a F-buddy rendevouz.

Hooking up can also be used to signify the start of a relationship..

"Yo dawg... Last night I totally hooked up with that Gaffer from the computer lab upstairs next to starbucks... We're gonna be goin out on the second date tomomrow... this time I'll make sure to bring a napkin"
 
It's definitely more than kissing, but not sex.

At least that's how us gays use it (like a nice handy/blowy etc. but no actual sex).
 
It's weird, no one I had met until college had ever had the opinion that hooking up was anything less than some form of "sex." I grew up mostly in the south, started in Texas and then to DC (the northest south known to mankind) though, so maybe that has something to do with it?
 
Hooking-up is fucking. If you made out with a girl the night before and told someone that you hooked up, everyone is going to imply that you fucked and that would make a fucking liar.

Most people I know use it for simple making out, however.

I should probably fraternize with people my own age more.

That depends on what your definition of sex is.

This is what I think it as. Basically going on a casual date. As for the colloquial thing, I grew up in SoCal..

"I'm hooking up with my best friend".
Etc....

No oral doesn't count because I would be willing to have a fat girl suck my cock and would never call it hooking up because everyone would think that I lowered my standards and then the fat farm would come up running so no, it isn't hooking up. When you tell your friends that you had a fat girl suck your cock they know you didn't lower your standards because the fattie was probably just desperate (and hungry) so you did a good deed.

Euphemisms? There are plenty of ways to say both "sex" and "making out".

Sometimes you need to sound romantic to your friends. I usually tell my friends though that I boinked some girl the night before which is quite the opposite of romantic (even though it does have its charms sometimes).
 
I've heard it used many ways, and it depends on context.
"Let's hook up" just means get together
"We hooked up" is fooling around of some kind, the amount of which is to be determined.
 
There are definitely different ways to use the phrase but heres an accurate definition..

Hater. I'm just genuinely confused, I had no idea that this word had so many fucking meaning to different people.

If someone said, post partying, that they had hooked up with a chick after the party, I'd visually imagine some graphic penis and vaginaing going on. Maybe my dirty daydreams are mere pipedreams and these people are just swapping spit?

I feel betrayed, GAF. This is more than semantics, it's a matter of honor.
