I'd probably have scored much higher if I didn't have such good relationships with my family and friends.

If I was taking this back in Middle School I'd have maxed out the scale though.

32. But like I didn't like the way the questions were phrased and the answers you were allowed. I'm fine being on my own, I have a close group of friends, I just don't have gf at the moment. So I guess that makes me Extremely Lonely...

That test is so basic. Do people really need to take it to know that they're lonely

Normal Loneliness

You answered this quiz consistent with people who are having a normal experience of loneliness. This is usually not something to be concerned about, as everyone can feel a little lonely from time to time.

It can become a problem, however, if these feelings are long-lasting and don't seem to get better on their own, even when you're with others, friends or family.

I should mention I'm living in an isolated part of Northern Alberta for work, so in the scale of loneliness up here, I'm actually pretty fucking super duper happy and not lonely at all.

I'm very happy guys, not going crazy at all....

You could always hunt and fish, right?

...make an unlikely friend with a wise old polar bear?

I don't have a hunting and fishing license, plus work gets in the way. The coolest thing I've seen though, the Northern Lights. Try watching that shit when you're high as fuck in pitch darkness. Un-freaking-real, half the time you're wondering if its really there or you're just looking at clouds or something. Good times.

I scored a 25.

Moderate Loneliness

You answered this quiz consistent with people who are suffering from moderate loneliness.

A certain amount of loneliness is a normal part of most people's lives. But when your feelings of loneliness can become a bit overwhelming or more serious than usual -- like now -- it may be a sign that something isn't quite balanced in your life.

You may find that you could benefit by trying to reach out to others in your life -- right now. A close friend or family member whom you trust and talk to can go a long way in helping to relieve feelings of loneliness in many people.

That description is pretty accurate; but I already knew this going in. :-p

I received a 25 as well. i am chuckling at how they worded the conclusion, as if there is something wrong with my life and something needs to change.

i'd rather not, if that's okay with you ucla.

I did laugh at the "right now" part. I agree with it in the sense that I could reach out more, but I'm not that lonely.

Shocker!

27 but there where several that I was between rarely and sometimes and I always chose rarely. Probably wasn't 100% honest with myself.

29.

I'm not really alone. Married with kids, but I moved to Canada from UK 7 years ago and left all my family and friends behind. I don't really made any proper friends here since the move, it's fricken difficult to make friends mid-life.

Meh... 33, but that's about what I expected. I'm a dedicated loner. The few very close friends I do have also tend to look after themselves, so the social circle doesn't expand very often. It's really pretty suited to my personality, but it's a pain when things get stale and even worse when it comes to meeting women. That's been better lately though...

19. And normal given my demographic. Which doesn't really seem right. I am rather socially isolated objectively. But this self-assesses loneliness and as an extreme introvert, I just don't experience many of the things they ask about.

I feel like I spend a lot of effort reaching out to others, but no one reciprocates. So I've stopped this and have recently been chilling by myself more often. I kinda enjoy it though.
