So I just saw an old Samurai Jack episode that reminded me of the awesomeness that was this series. It was the episode where Jack stumbles upon his old home and has memories of his childhood.

I was reminded of the shows amazingly varied episodes and creativity. The great characters, story, exciting fights and awesome animation. I still can't believe that it ended 6 years ago, seems like it was just yesterday I was watching Aku trying to win back the kids with stories of how evil Jack is.

I can't believe its been 6 years since we got anything from it. The show still doesn't have an ending, and its annoying me to no end. Genndy Tartakovsky Wanted to make a movie to end it from what I remember, but no new news of it in years!

Goddammit Genndy! Bring the show back!

That was the first episode I saw, I was hooked :3

My other favorite episodes that come to mind are:
Jack Vs The Zombies, all the eps with the Scotsman, Jack Vs the Assasins, Jack Vs Shinobi

I doubt they'll ever make a film, since Aku's voice actor passed away.
Genndy's been doing a new cartoon series, it is sci fi :D

Anyway The Scotsman was all kinds of awesome :lol There was the episode in the pyramid, when Jack turns into a chicken, when that woman Jack befriends turns out to be Aku, hell the show was consistently great for the most part.

It needs an ending Genndy! Fucking do it!
 
Samurai Jack was such an awesome show. I hated Cartoon Network's retardedly inconsistent schedule for making me always miss it.

I need to pick up the DVDs one of these days. I don't think I've even seen half the episodes.

I hope that movie gets around to being made some day, though I doubt it will.

Get it now man, there's only 52 episodes(sadly) so you'd be able to watch it no problem.

One of my favorite episodes was the cyborg mobster hitman, "looloo, sweet thing".
 
Jack And The Three Blind Archers was just awesome from start to finish. Jack Remembers The Past actually nearly made me cry the first time I seen it, and the Lone Wolf and Cub cameo just blew me away. It's a crime this show has never been finished, why wasn't it anyway, was Gendy too busy with Star Wars?
 
You guys know he has a movie planned? He says it's just a matter of time before he will start actual production on it.

Man, once Genndy gets tired of something, he just moves on to something else and never looks back. I want a proper ending too, but I just don't think it's going to happen :/

EDIT:^Oh snap. Let's hope it's not CG or something.
 
The scene from that ep with the assassins where they're all telling stories is rad.


The whole show reeks of awesome, such a fantastic cartoon in a sea of shit
 
I love the show, one of my favs of all time. I think the first episode I saw was when he helped the dog people build a defense against the robots. Nobody said a word the whole episode. It was amazing!
 
I was thinking about how much I loved this show before and contemplated making a thread.

It was so good, incredible animation and storytelling, was so unique and heads above most animation then and now.

I really need to go back and find it because I didn't see every episode, even if there isn't an ending. Which sucks by the way.

The company has as its goal to make two full feature animated movies a year with a 20 million dollar budget each. I doubt they will go 3D tbh.

This show is fucking fantastic. It gives me an isolated, yet comfortable feeling. I really hope they continue this series and have it lead to an eventual conclusion.
 
I know I liked the show, but for some reason the only episode I can remember right now is when he was working with the mobsters and wearing a suit.
 
I've been meaning to watch an episode. It was a little past my time so I always thought it looked stupid but it gets a lot of Internet praise. I'd be interested to see how it is.
 
This is more than a show.. it's visual art. I have been to 3 different bars + clubs where they just projected it on the wall for style.
 
my favorite episode is the one where jack encounters a house with a ghost/demon in it, and the monster captured the family in the house and transported them to his realm. Jack lets the monster take him too and it's all black and white with barely any sound
 
My favourite episode is probably the second part in the couplet where Jack loses his memory: the Scotsman tries to save him, and for some reason they board a ship; on the way they get mesmerized by some sirens, so for the first half of the episode there's this wonderful faux-opera background music. Of course, you then get the Scotsman as his great self, saying that he's heard "cats being run over that sound better than this". :lol

This show really was awesome, and managed such a great mixture of cinematic style, action and humour.
 
watching the pilot right now.

very unfamiliar with the show as a whole, but i've seen an episode or two. something with jack fighting a scottish guy.
 
loved the series. why can't we make more cartoons like this? (Avatar was also really good).

the Clone Wars series he did was awesome (I would say better than the current one, only because of the Mace Windu ep :D )

The Symbionic Titan should be awesome, can't wait to hear more

Samurai Jack the movie is already an instant buy for me

i think it's hard for people to strike a balance between great action and levity, and appealing to both adults and kids. it takes a very talented group to do so.

If you are looking for the DVDs, go buy them from the amazon marketplace. I bought the entire series brand new for around $20.
 
My favorite cartoon, and my favorite TV show, of all time. I think only Genndy could possibly uproot Genndy at this point. Masterful doesn't even begin to describe it. Some may think I'm over-praising it but seriously. Find me another TV show that blends such amazing animation (or editing) with brilliant unique style and the perfect use of sound like that. Maybe there's some anime nobody ever watched that beats it, but I've yet to see it.

This show was artistic and insightful as fuck. The later shows were so awesome such as The Tale of X9 and Seasons of Death. But the entire show was pretty fucking awesome.
 
I like how some episodes had little to no talking at all. and sometimes even no violence. weird how some shows need all that dialouge to get their point across while Samurai Jack can do it with no words.

also, all that blood, err.. oil. :lol
