Level-5 announces LBX Armored Girls (PC/mobile), drops pretense of dignity

Is the idea to make a game for children then just follow that crowd through puberty?

That's literally the only way I can reason why they'd use this IP.

Man, when are they going to make a version of Super Princess Peach like this? Nintendo needs to co-op with Level 5 now!

And lets also hope that new Bomberman game makes it way to the Switch too!

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
I got LBX from a convention. Haven't played it yet. I know the franchise got shafted in NA. Especially when the English dub of the anime skipped episodes.
This is shameful though.

*looks at recently purchased copy of YW2: Psychic Specters* Stay away from Yo-kai Watch, that series is pure! *remembers pervy moments in the anime* Mostly pure.

Guess Level 5 is chasing where the money is.

Whats worse? A Franchise dying or being converted to moe?

The latter option as a dying/dead franchise has the chance of coming back but a series being turning to moe is forever a bad mark on the franchise.

The clothing "damage" mechanics for the Joker character leave me with no doubt that the content is catered to sadist pedophiles.

They're making it in collaboration with DMM Games.

You will remember LBX best as a children's game about building robots targeted at 6-11 year olds.

There's a lot more at the link.

*Sigh* Too bad they're going in a lewd direction. The animated trailer actually looks pretty cool and would be a good style for a beat-em-up.

It would be extreamly painful...
I watched the trailer and was very disappointed. Where's the gameplay? I want to see how extensive the customisation is. Do I have to use these premade girls or can I build my own?

LBX was a solid little series, and I wish it had served as the much-needed kick in the ass to remind Nintendo that Custom Robo exists.

This is a sad fate indeed.

Why does it need to be dignified?

In any case, I hope the browser version is translated into English like how Cygames did with Granblue. I'd play this. I like fanservicey games, and an RPG with clothes destruction seems like it could be fun. Though I'd need to know more about the gameplay itself first. I also wish it wasn't JUST a browser game, and being a phone game, I really hope that this isn't riddled with microtransactions and gatcha. Such is really moneygrubbing and its far too common with these sorts of iOS/Android titles.
LBX was a series about elementary children building robots targeted at 6-11 year olds.

It's like if you made Pokemon into this.
Did they already kinda do that to Digimon though?
And a lewd Pokemon game doesn't sound necessarily bad. I've often wished for a more serious, more adult Pokemon game. So far the closest to that they've made are the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games. (which are amazing)

Is this what will fund White Knight Chronicles 3? It is, right? I'm sure it is. Now is the time for WKC to shine.

A lewd game isn't more serious or more adult. And a lewd Pokemon game is never happening. Ever.

The problem with fanservice games is that the grand majority of are trash. Senren Kagura would have a much better rap here if those games were even marginally decent. When you go the lewd route, 99% of the time you're doing so because the rest of your game is shit.

So when they lead with, "the girl's clothes explode!" that translates into, "we literally have nothing so we're hoping boobs trick a few horny teenagers into buying this over a porn mag".
