Yup, dedicated media controls are already rare for a mechanical keyboard (ie ones with true volume slider instead of another key).
Soooo I spilled some juice on my mechanical keyboard...
Unplugged it and disassembled it immediately and waited it for to dry. Two days later I plugged it in and found some keys to be sticking and pressing one key would two different key stokes?
I literally bought this two months ago AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Did you wash the juice off?
I hope keyboard lasts because I read there were problems with the mini USB port. I connected it to PS/2 port for the time being.
PS/2 port for keyboard interface is superior to USB.
Nah, it's a driver/chipset thing. Some newer keyboads have NKRO over USB as wellPS/2 port for keyboard interface is superior to USB.
I type a lot, so I decided to give a mechanical keyboard with blue switches a try. I'm pretty happy so far, the feeling is great, but the keyboard is really loud, probably because I'm banging the keys all the way down. Should I have gone with a stiffer switch?
The PS/2 interface generates a hardware interrupt on every keystroke while USB needs to be polled whenever the computer gets around to it. It's usually not a big deal in practice, but there's less to go wrong with PS/2.Why's that? Something to do with input delay?

I got a Corsair K70 as a gift and I couldn't be happier. It is quite fantastic. First Cherry MX mechanical keyboard, so I'm pretty excited about this one. Taking some getting used to as usual when going from keyboard to keyboard, but this is great. I finally have some back-lighting which is absolutely huge for me. The keys are super easy to press and feel good. I'm typing a little slower right now because I'm not used to the key spacing from my old keyboard, but I'll get used it. It is getting better as I type this. The sound of pushing them in is nice. Nothing too loud, but just right. I've played a few games with it thus far and it is actually pretty great. Because you don't need to press the key down fully, it makes it easy to flow from key to key.
This is a beautiful keyboard too. The brushed aluminum is nice and it accents nicely with the blue LED's. I am really, really happy.
Welcome to the K70 Master Race. Which mechanics, Blue, Brown or Red?
Red. I figured it was a good middle of the road.
I was pretty surprised by the way the reds felt. Responsive as hell, but missing that click that I loved so much on my first old 386 kb.Actually Red requires the least pressure to activate the switch and has no tactile feedback unlike blues.
I got a K70 in September and it's a solid keyboard, but the longevity of the spraypainted keys concern me. Of course I wouldn't expect injection moulded keys at the K70 price point, but I'm still concerned about the paint rubbing off after a year+ of heavy use. Overall it's well designed though and very easy to clean. Good media controls too.

Just got a Zowie Celeritas MX Brown for a good price, here's hoping it's not shit!
I'm so glad I got a sample kit with one of each Blue, Brown, Clear, Black, and Red. Turns out I can't stand the feeling or sound of Blues, and I prefer tactile feedback over linear switches.
So I guess I'm now looking for a nice Brown switch, or perhaps Clear switch keyboard. Currently my sights are set on a Razer Blackwidow Stealth, since it has all the features I want (Macro buttons, backlight, usb passthrough). I'm skeptical of anything marketed as gaming equipment though. Are there perhaps any other brown/clear keyboard that I should look over? The main issue is that I really like the macro buttons, even if I use them only occasionally.

Does the K95 come in browns or blues? It has macro keys, backlighting and media keys.

Any opinions on the Logitech G710+?

Ducky Shine 3 - best keyboard I've ever owned HANDS DOWN

I've had mine for a year now and have been getting double inputs randomly ever since I plugged it into a different USB port. It was usually the t key, but I think it's moved to delete since I've gotten multiple confirm prompts when deleting something a few times. In the port I had it plugged into before it would shut off every once in awhile and I'd have to unplug and plug it back in a few times to get it to work again. In the port it's in now it also doesn't work until Windows gets to the login screen, which is a pain if I need it for BIOS stuff or the "start Windows normally" screen after a power outage.I have the Gigabyte Aivia Osmium and it's been good to me since thw first couple months of issues. It would double input quite often. I get a sticky key every now and again but the textile feel and longevity make up for it.
