OLED and LCD are a sample and hold type of display, meaning picture stays on the screen for the entire time until the next refresh.
Plasma was an impulse display so it would flicker with very high frequency.
If you don't believe us that OLED doesn't have ghosting, try recording it with slow motion camera in your phone
you'll see that it's 100% your eyes seeing the blur.
BFI introduces flicker and thanks to that our eyes perceive sharper motion with lower FPS. On current OLEDs it's still not good enough to achieve plasmas and CRT motion resolution with lower FPS content.
