Licensed tracks that you strongly associate with specific games

I had The Eminem Show on repeat when I played Metroid Prime, so whenever 'Til I Collapse comes on I get this memory of a boring morph ball maze underwater for some reason.

Capt. Midnight by Tomahawk will always make me think of The Darkness. Best credits song ever.

Oh, and Faunts from Mass Effect 1 is Another.

Sigur Ros - Track 7 (Dead Space) ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAiHfqnbGYo

Unkle - Lonely Souls (Assassins Creed) ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Ixr2q8bHo8

La Roux - In For the Kill Remix (Bayonetta) ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFRGbjLvsNU

Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit (Lost Odyssee) ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-x12UEo-rs

Sia - Breathe Me (Prince of Persia 2008) ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg206YpaXlA

And then there is GTA. But there is too much here to post about GTA. Even GTA4 has some tracks that make me think of the game even though it has the weakest soundtrack in the series along with GTA2.

GTA V and Sleepwalking. That release trailer hit me like a tonne of bricks with that track, I immediately sought it out online. Fucking amazing song and made the trailer for me, as the release trailer was the weakest trailer they released.

Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin - BioShock

Cyclone by Naughty by Nature - THPS2

Never Gonna Get it by Sean Biggs - Fight Night Round 3

Kanye West's POWER for Saints Row.
Aint that a kick in the head for Mafia 2.
Specific old 1930's music with Mafia 1.
Hall of the Mountain King with Golden Sun (it was used as the song in the epic european commercial).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOvwdVp8Fvo
The commercial was so good that it helped sell the game a ton in europe, and Camelot decided to tirbute it in Golden Sun 3, creating a boss and summon from the chandelier dragon in the theater.

"YA YA YA YA YA!"

Literally every track that has ever been in a Wipeout game, I associate as being a Wipeout track first and foremost.

DJ Krush - Song 2

Forever associated with the second Islands level of LittleBigPlanet 1 for me. I absolutely love that instrumental and it put me onto DJ Krush in general.

Most any of the licensed tracks in the LBP games are associated with those games mentally for me. If I hear them in commercials, or in movies it's always "hey, there it is"

Just three of a load that could be listed but for some reason these stuck out:

All I Want (Offspring): Crazy Taxi (Dreamcast)
One Hundred Mile High City (Ocean Colour Scene): Three Lions (Playstation)
Paradise City (Guns n' Roses): Burnout Paradise

My Patch-Jim Noir (LittleBigPlanet)

Volver a Comenzar-Cafe Tacuba (LittleBigPlanet)

Sleepyhead-Passion Pit (LittleBigPlanet 2)

Young Blood-Naked and Famous (SSX)

Every song used in Tales from the Borderlands, Especially "To the Top", that was glorious. In fact, every song used in the entire Borderlands series.

Utada Hikaru and Kingdom Hearts.

Full Throttle's use of Bone to Pick by the Gone Jackals was the first thing I thought of. I've literally never heard the song in any other context — except when I've played it deliberately after being introduced to the band by the game.

The Tony Hawk games are a sure thing. Guerilla Radio for THPS 2, Superman in THPS 1, If You Must for THPS3. But it's really half of the tunes from those soundtracks.

Brand New - The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows (NHL 2004)

Edit: yeah the Utada songs that are part of Kingdom Hearts are a no brainier

I like that The Cardigans even named their album Gran Turismo.

If you played NHL 2002, you definitely know this one:

Gob - I Hear You Calling
Nostalgia kick. Literally haven't heard it since 2003. First few chords it all comes rushing back. Goodness.

Basically all the Tales from The Borderlands opening songs i just assosciate with the game

Back To The Top is so good too.

GTA3's Flash FM was incredible; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpGxrm_m2GM

When I saw Scarface a few years later it blew my mind. It was essentially the Scarface soundtrack they had put into GTA3, so discover the connotation to these 80s classics the other way around was weird.
I fucking loved Scarface. And I loved Vice City for being so inspired by the film as well.

So many people think Scarface is only cool because of the ending scene, but I love the entire film. It's a film about failed immigration, history of crime and a story of self destruction. All in the happy-go-luck neon dystopia.

Glad to see Superman by Goldfinger (from THPS) getting so much love. Immediately popped to mind when I saw this thread.
