Yes! This and please Sony, let me disable this "the-picture-turns-black-every-evening" thing. I like the standard XMB background, but I don't like the black screen. It looks so nice in the middle of the day.

So true! It's getting really annoying, they've added printer support and have yet to let us fully customize the XMB. :lol WTF Sony?!

Whatever was in 1.94 (rumble, huh?) was required for Ratchet and Clank and no other game, or we'd have it already. If it wasn't for the PSP FW notes mentioning 2.00 I'd go along with you, but if we get 1.94 and not 2.00 I'll be mightily surprised...

.

all the mentioning of PSP FW that the wake up lan need a PS3 with FW version 2.0. it doesnt mean FW 2.0 is coming anytime soon. its under the proces. but god knows when it will happen.

just like how sony has 98memory reserved for the PS2 OS. currently the PS3 application doesnt use all that memory. but its still reserved for future use/application

i am not saying you are wrong. we might get FW 2.0 like tomorrow. who knows. but since 1.94 isnt out yet to public and its already in R&C. makes you think the next FW is 1.94. and i have a feeling the FW will be released along with the DS3 controller.

If 2.0 wasn't coming soon, the feature wouldn't have been included in this PSP update.

as I said in a previous post no one cared to reply to, that feature is not listed in the actual change log when you update the PSP firwmare. It just states the expanted funcionality of PSN games stuff.

Or you could think the other way around. It's done for the PSP, so they decided to implement it already so they got that part covered without a hitch. This doesn't neccessarily mean that 2.0 is actually coming, it's just that they got that part of the collaboration covered.

Yeah, I saw that - it was also omitted from the update pages in the US, and only partially mentioned on the Australian one. Just because it's not there on the PSP itself doesn't mean it's not in there.

Does it?

Of course. I'm just questioning the reasoning "3.72 added Remote Start = 2.0 is coming soon". If it was indeed added, it's transparent enough so that people wouldn't expect the 2.0 firmware anytime soon.

IIRC, the only other time that we got a PSP FW update that referenced a PS3 FW update was the PS1 emulator. In that case, the PS3 update came out a week later than the PSP update.

But it's anything but transparent - it's all over the intersupermotorway right now, with the 'usual' boards going crazy waiting for whatever 2.00 contains.

I still think we nearly got 2.00 last week when the PSN went down, but of course anyone that actually knows isn't ever going to say for sure when this thing is coming.

Except Consoul, but he can't hear us.

I would love for it to come out tonight, but I think I'll be setting myself up for disappointment if i get hyped up about it.

I don't know if someone has already pointed out the prophetic value of the thread's title:

PS3 firmware 2.0 coming next week!

You see, it is always next week. The following week it will be next week.

Tonight is the time!!
Isn't it?

Well at least they could add rumble support and update to BD Final Profile (1.1) :lol

I hate, hate, hate the day to night transition. I play 99% at night, and all i get it the drab black XMB wave BG. The PSP-style XMB scheme is always so nice and cheerful.

Yeah, I've turned it on a few times in the day and thought.

Wow, nice orange.
or
Wow, nice cyan.

But usually, like you, it's black and night.

Same. I like the wave, so I don't want to use wallpaper. Just an option would be really nice.

Ok so I'm seeing two new icons I've never seen before on the XMB: Hydra-PC and Azureus. I don't even have a connection from my PC to my PS3, and whenever I got online with the PS3 yesterday and downloaded EyeCreate, suddenly the Azureus/Hydra-PC icons show up on every media-related section of the XMB (Music, Video, etc.) I'm not sure what caused the icon to appear; there's no wireless connection. Anyone know what happened or what's going on?

Take a photo and show us.

Normal, because of the Media-Server Feature.

Maybe someone hacked into your network and has media sharing on. :)

Azureus has a universal plug and play plugin. The PS3 probably thinks its a media server. I have no idea what Hydra-PC is, but it wouldn't surprise me if that's your PC running Vista Media Server via UPnP or something similar.

In other words, no big deal. You've got some UPnP devices on your LAN and the PS3 spotted them.

Ah, that's a relief.

Well, I'm on XP, if that rids of the Vista Media Server possibility (not sure).

Azureus has shown up as a media server on mine for a while...although I don't know if it can do any streaming.

Yeah, I selected it and just got an error message. Same with Hydra-PC (whatever the hell that is).

Don't we also usually get a post on the blog about firmware updates in advance? I haven't seen anything about 2.00 yet.

Yeah, that doesn't sound good. What's worse is that the Warhawk patch appears (just a feeling based on the coincidental, supposed releases) to be depending on it, so no 2.0 FW = no 1.1 Wowhawk patch.

I think what people want from 'ingame xmb' varies a deal.
If you want full XMB functionality you're loco. Music & friendslist/messaging should be done obviously but if you're expecting the actual whole XMB thing then yeah.. far fetched.

Agreed and to be honest I don't use my in-game dash on my 360 all that much. Basically for friendslist/messaging.

music and freinds is all that needs to be there seriously, people who want more are crazy>.>

A ton of the features are simply not possible like video thumbnails, photos, browsing installed games...etc.
Also, one might question stuff like the multitudes of avatars on the friendslist and how much memory those might take. If they add a overall friendslist to the PS Button that stretches across all games it will look 'basic' me thinks and be by names only.

Couple things I would like to see:

*In-game XMB (Music + Friends List + Messaging ONLY)
*Ability to surf the internet / listen to music / watch videos while in Chat
*A faster internet browser (seriously, this needs improvment - it has gotten better though) plus they REALLY need to update the flash player.
*Ability to sort Games in any order (the three current options are somewhat okay)
*Ability to sort Photos / Videos in Folders
*Home goes public
*Scale back memory usage of the XMB

That would be IMO a great start.

someone (not me) needs to looks back at who one here was saying 2.0 this week. He lost a week ban because it didn't come on the 25 like he called, but he SWORE its coming either tonight or tomorrow. Don't start none, won't be none

Well, yeah. I don't expect the browser to work or picture/video viewing (maybe viewing the pictures thumbnail so you know what you're sending a buddy) as well as things like the visualizer but that's to be expected. I just want custom soundtracks and messaging as far as in game xmb access pertains.

All I need is what it's already there in Home beta when you press SELECT.

all they really need to do is make 3 icons music freinds and exit game, but i still dont think were gonna see xmb ingame, instead where gonna get that list menu and fromt here freinds and music would be avaible imo

I would be fine with that. I don't really need the avatars and such. That'd be a welcome bonus though.

Consoul. He said last week, then the 31st at the very latest...
