Either you are part of the problem or your response is entirely ironic.
So, uh, what happened in the hours between your first post and your second post?Killdozer said:Yup. It's fukkin over.
The Weaboos can smoke their own wangs, but for everyone else, the entire generation is over. So that's going to be eight straight years of moe anime bullshit JRPGs.
Yup.I don't even know what people are banging on about in this thread anymore.
More drinking. So, uh, what happened in the hours between your first post and your second post?
I once know a place where JPRGs didn't suck. Totally devoid of Webaoos and Moe fanatics. It was about story and combat mechanics. Recently, the entire generation has been devoid of that. Overall it seems like they have entirely ignored the story, and replaced it with some gimmiclty combat mechanic that wasn't persistently applicable through the story.Warm yourself by the fire, son. The morning will come soon. Tell me stories of a better time in a place that you once knew.
I don't even know what people are banging on about in this thread anymore..
OH yeah. Not banging on thread anymore. Just pointing out that Novala Crystalisis is over and FF XIII Versus is over with Lightning has taken the place.

Pointing out that FFXIII as we know it is over. It's dead. Done. Some emo dude in a limo has been replaced by Lightning with a huge vago. Transcending time and shit.OH yeah. Guessing this guy doesn't play handhelds..
Tried but the super low resolution and pixels per inch have turned me away.
I can play Chrono Trigger on my 1440P monitor but Ace Combat Zero is not acceptable. You have got to be joking...
Yeeeah, that's why they've been putting a shitton of effort into their next gen game engine (for which they won't see any return in at least 1-2 years, if even then if whatever games use it flop) as well as doing what is probably the biggest fixing- a-broken-product a game has ever and will ever see in XIV 2.0. They might be trying to avoid risks of releasing games that simply have everything against them being profitable (JRPGs are a niche genre, 3DS is a niche platform), doesn't mean the company itself is taking zero risks. Mobile/Browser games are easy money for them, so sure, why not pursue that direction as well. It doesn't mean they are doing nothing else in the meanwhile"Zero risk/ Ok return. That's their motto as it is now."
Which Japanese-developed RPGs have you played this generation, because therein may lay your problem. Also, are you talking about consoles or handhelds or both?Killdozer said:I once know a place where JPRGs didn't suck. Totally devoid of Webaoos and Moe fanatics. They'll probably be as fun as Assassin's Creed tailing missions.
Sadly, some people are pathetic like that.
Star Ocean, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Final Fantasy XIII.Man, and I thought I had a bit too much.

I appreciate your enthusiasm but aside from English, Spanish is my only secondary language, and while I understand a lot of the French, a lot of the delicacy is gone.Edit: Waiiiit, from before you think the three FNC games in their original state were supposed to be linked together in a chronological fashion? Oh nonono. They just share mythology (English translation here). FF13 is its own thing (so now it's its own subsidies). FF Versus 13 is its own take on the foundation of the mythology. And Agito--now Type-0--has its own interpretation of the mythology.
Here arm-in-arm, we parade these streets and sing our songs.
We've had enough. Is there even anything left to explain?
I wouldn't call people pathetic for that, but modern handhelds, phones and tablets have more than enough ppi for any gaming needs. If you insist otherwise, you are just proving to have an agenda.
Personally I like seeing all the dirty pixels.
Maybe we've outgrown all the things that we once loved?
Probably, but I can't handle handhehedls at this point. Not ergonomic and not comfortable enough for me.I realize you're just trolling, but the last 6-7 years on handheld in terms of rpgs has easily matched and even outdone whatever cute memories you have of FF7 and the good old rpg days.
1:1 pixel art is so much better on these lower ppi handheld anyways.
I wonder why people always bring up pedophilia in these discussions. But anyway, case in point:

Not to mention sprite art ages loads better.
Trying to and stuff. It's hard.
They were in XI, but Yoshida found a way to make them creepier.
Star Ocean 4's narrative was offensive to the senses. And you know what half of us think of FF13 and its sequel (ie: negatively). Haven't played the other two. This stuff has been in Japanese-developed RPGs, though, but voice acting and directed cutscenes have made a difference, I guess.Star Ocean, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Final Fantasy XIII.
Sounds hot.demidar said:Personally I like seeing all the dirty pixels.
If you don't understand the past, you'll never learn the fun now 'til you're standing at the gate. This isn't giving up, no this is letting go.
Not quite since the beginning, but since FF VII. Also, don't call me guy, friend.Guy, I hate moe crap as much as the next person, but you do realize these characters, along with the emo douches, have plagued JRPGs since the beginning?
Faded? More or less, have transformed, which is OK for the narrow future set about for Final Fantasy.Though, it is a shame these characters have stayed while others, such as the kick ass animal creature bro, have more or less faded.
Probably, but I can't handle handhehedls at this point. Not ergonomic and not comfortable enough for me.
So the problem is you and your extraordinary pickiness, not the actual game quality![]()

You can't truly love until you've given up on it.
A new Gundam series whose next OP song is going to be by Rise Against, obviously. It's been mentioned that the main character looks like a Gundam. It's been years, since our luck ran out and left us here, like broken mirrors, ten million shards of glass and tears, but now we are awake enough to shatter what we hate.
I don't even know what this threads about anymore.
My advice is to probably try your hand at other stuff. Not... stuff like Neptunia or maybe other NISA-published games or anything like that because that would irritate you further.
-Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll (PS3)
-The Last Remnant (PC version, please)
-Tales of Vesperia (360) (yes, it might look cutesy and anime and whatever, but the narrative is decent for 2/3s of the story)
-Dark Souls (PC, 360, PS3)
-Resonance of Fate (360, PS3)
-Xenoblade (Wii)
See if those do anything for you.
Tried but the super low resolution and pixels per inch have turned me away. Enjoy your Final Fantasy Agito, oh whoops wait, I mean Zero card game shit.
Killdozer is angry with himself and lashing out at everything because of it.
It's okay man. We're here for you.
You are (not) alone.
Yeah, what he really needs is the power of friendship!
Is that first Trinity one actually good? I like basically every other game in your list a lot, though a bit underwhelmed by Resonance of Fate, but Trinity always looked super meh and got pretty bad reviews.
Though Last Remnant PC got bad on most sites outside Gamespot because no one bothered to re-review the new version and slapped on the 360 score, even when it's insanely improved. Whenever I recommend it to my friends, they just look a the review and scoff it off, at least one of them got it at a steam sale and loves it, so I don't want to repeat that mistake.![]()
Which is a theme that makes Final Fantasy what it is yet Square does not see that as what makes Final Fantasy which means the old concept of friendship overcomes any obstacle is dwindling.
And with this game I fear Liberator of Souls will mean Lightning will kill off her old allies.
