COUNTDOWN TO THE CARTER
PART 1
PART 2

There are propably alot of Wayne haters here, but there have to be some people anticipating this album like me.

What are your expectations (Music & Sales) ?

A MILLI A MILLI A MILLI

Weezy thanking it's fans

http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh6koFygc20fhia4g0

I expect it to do very well sales wise. Wayne has flooded the market with himself. He's been on damn near every popular R&B and Rap song out for the last year.

Music wise, I don't know what to expect. Wayne's problem the last few albums has been the beats. Lollipop and A Mille give me some hope, but I'm still skeptical if the production is going to be up to par or not.

The Lollipop remix with Kanye is ridiculous. Kanye shows out on the track. "but you ain't gonna murder me like everybody else" and my other favorite line, "I'm gonna rap like I got some kind of respect for myself"

"I'm the best rapper in the world"

Man shutup. I don't have any love for Wayne but will still have a listen. I really don't like his flow though, it sounds like he's pausing to think of his next line rather than it just coming naturally. Others seem to love it so its just a matter of taste.

I bet the 100's of tracks that didn't make the CD will have some great songs too. He already has another single he can use nationally, which has a chance to blow up like Lollipop - Comfortable with Seanbaby. No CDQ as leaked yet, so I can't wait to hear that.

Ok, I just had a listen to Lollipop remix and I'm actually impressed. Waynes second verse (the final verse on the track) was very well done.

Where's "Burn this City"? Dammit !
Isn't that the song that is extremely old (not that comfortable and a few verses/tracks on the list aren't as well) and tainted by twista?

I still want my snippit for "eat you alive"

and I am kind of upset that he re-used verses/songs for his actual album. Still enough new content to get me into the nearest best buy though.

Just realized the track list in op is lacking both eat you alive and lisa marie.

Plus I didn't think "you ain't got nothing on me" was on c3.

edit- Its also missing "showtime"

Yea not taking this track listing as official.

I also didn't expect this tracklisting to be official.
But comfortable and you ain't got nuthing, are propably remastered (maybe new lyrics)
Still doesn't explain where Eat You Alive & Showtime are.
Also Lisa Marie was never confirmed as a CIII track, and also doesn't really sound like one.

I disagree 100% about Lisa Marie (Love that song) and I'll be willing to bet its on c3.

I didn't think milli was album material but the Final version of it is a lot better.

How's C1 and 2 compared to None Higher? I just discovered him recently, and bought none higher, which has 3-4 great songs out of 30+.

C1 is a completely different rapper imo (more southern and more hot boys-ish). C2 is him bringing the metaphor's, and maturing as an artist (I'm sure you've heard at least fireman).

I think a good representation of tha carter 2 is either Shooter, or Receipt, or Best Rapper Alive.

You should buy both.

Carter 1 & 2 are both awesome
He has a different flow on both Albums.
Carter 2 has the more famous weezy flow
Although I slightly prefer C1 over C2 overall.

Also get The Drought 3, and the The Drought Is Over 2: Carter 3 sessions (This is the reason of the C3 delay)

I will smack ANYONE who comes in here and says that Lil Wayne sucks and wants to say that Aesop Rock or some other crappy rapper is better (yeah, I went there). Listen to some of this shit, Listen to California Love, or the Lollipop remix with Kanye West. He has got more swagger, style, and delivery than most of them other cats out there.

I'll probably give this a look-in. Not much of a fan of, well, any of his solo LPs, but his last couple of mixtapes have been solid.

Let's be honest here, he's good, but not that good, man.

Yeah, I didn't say all, I said most. I think he is good. Most people haven't heard most of his Mixtapes. For some reason he usually does better on mixtapes than he does on his own shit. Plus he comes up with most of that shit from the top of his head. He just smokes a blunt and talks. That is why someone said that he sounds like he is thinking about what to say next.

I think if you picked any rapper you like and gave me his best performances on a track I could pull out 2 or more from Wayne that I prefer for each one.

Not saying its a fact that hes better but good is relative so lets keep that in mind when throwing out comments like "hes not that good" and part of the reason hes so popular right now is that a lot of people seem to think he is "that good" which garners plenty of hate.

"Kush" is "How you like me now?" I guess. Still wish it had "Help" "Something you forgot" and "I feel like dying" from the Carter3 Mixtape. PEACE.

I'd wager his best mixtape work was Prefix (before Carter1, which is still my favorite album of his) and Dedication1 with DJ Drama (before Carter2). PEACE.

Well, I might have been a bit harsh there. He's definitely better than most, and his mixtapes are definitely where he shines. I still think this greatest rapper alive stuff is rubbish, though. And while I appreciate that he does receive unjustified hate for being so popular, I do think that it is reactionary and defensive to defend his assertion that is bravado at best.

Not anything really relevant towards the conversation... but damn I just noticed his hat in that one cover. It's gotta be like a size 9 or something for all of that hair.

Wayne really need to officially release these leaked songs like Prostitute Flange, I Feel Like Dying, Something You Forgot etc.

I Especially miss La La (supposed to be the original single in 2007)

It really hurts when there is a CIII song called LA, I hoped it was the 2007 LA LA

Well he isn't really that popular is he? Didn't he thank 50 for dissing him a while back because he said they were expanding his audience to white girls? :lol

I don't like his voice but his rhymes are not so bad. And the greatest rapper alive stuff is annoying.

That tracklist has been confirmed to be kind of fake already. Supposedly the CD is something like 21 tracks (many of the ones up there are in the CD, but there's 5 or 6 more songs).

this.

and Dying is missing

I hate how all of lil Weezys songs have been so slow. "Fireman" was what got me into little Wayne anyway. He needs to get him back a real hip-hop song in this album.

I haven't liked anything this dude has put out since last summer. Not too excited about this.

Especially now that he's the Amy Winehouse of rap.

Unfortunately that 21-track tracklist is fake. Production credits were off, it said that 3peat was produced by Cool&Dre while in fact it's produced by Maestro.

I also don't that Dying is going to be on the cd.

Also Wayne doesn't pick the tracklisting, Universal does.

It's gonna suck. The Carter II and Dedication II was his best work. But there's nothing wrong w/ a lil' optimism.

how can someone who is wack with weak lyrical skills be so popular. can't believe I hear writers etc saying he is the best in the game right now. Fcuking Joke!!

Wow, you honestly think that a Wayne CD will flop? Come on now, even if it does bad for a Wayne album, it will still go platinum.

Your an idiot. If you think Wayne is a bad lyricist, who do you think is a good lyricist?
