Little Mac Confirmed Playable For Smash Bros Wii U

Little Mac is too Mahvel for Smash.

I love it.

EDIT: Also:

Captain Falcon's going to have to add super armor and a OHKO feature to his Falcon Punch to stay competitive. Ganondorf, too (with the Warlock Punch).

I do think it's possible Punch-Out could get two characters (what's a boxing match without two boxers?), but since Doc Louis is seemingly Mac's announcer
although I guess Alfonso could take over that role
, I'd say I'd expect one of the enemy combatants.

King Hippo seems the likeliest since he's probably the most well-known character and somewhat seen as the "villain" of the series among fans.

Soda Popinski would be way more amazing.

Donkey Kong is already in.

Also, f*** yeah Vanessa and Rob Python!

The second character i'm actually hyped for out of the new additions. The first being Wii Fit Trainer.
Just need my Solid Snake now

I think the only we'd get Punch Out jumping from zero to two characters is if we get Melee-style model/stat swap clones.

I appreciate that he's in, I like that the NES characters get heed paid to them through Smash Bros, it's absolutely what the series should be about. Doesn't make much difference to me, not being a Punchout fan. I love his aesthetic too.

The more I read up on the Metal Gear series, the more it's baffling he was ever in Brawl in the first place. Will not mourn his inevitable cut. And no, it isn't inevitable like Lucario. Nintendo would look like a huge cuckold man... "Oh, that's a nice Metal Gear Solid V you gots there... oh... oh you don't like the Wii U... are you coming for Smash? ... please?"

Count me in as one of those who was fooled by this reveal. I'm usually not so gullible :p. Today actually marks the first time I am interested in Smash Bros. 4. I was VERY disappointed by Brawl after the excellent first two games (WAY too floaty). I am, however, still very lukewarm on these environments so far though. They have a chance to do some crazy things but most of the stages look very bland. I'm sure there is still a lot to reveal but it's looking like the first two games still reign supreme.
Absolutely LOVE Little Mac's over-exaggerated movements, especially with his hooks and uppercuts. Reminds me of this guy (which happens to be one of my favorite animes)

I really hope they give Mac a Dempsey Roll.

Falcon punch!!!!!
Aaaand I have a new main.

I just looks like he is going to be so much fin to play with. You can just picture how much fun it is going to be to nail people with that fully charged punch.

Strong Captain Falcon vibes. Similar moves and specials, tweaked and his how flair (like the KO meter).

Please reveal C. Falcon next. Thanks.
For sure. Captain Falcon is the reason I loved Mele so much and his gimping was my single biggest disappointment with Brawl.

This character seems to capture that feeling.
I got a huge Ippo vibe from the intro trailer. I can't wait to get my hands on this game.

I still can't believe that we finally got Little Mac as playable character, and the trailer is still amazing when I watched it again this morning.

I have a good feeling that Captain Falcon is going to be good again since Little Mac seem to be strong, so I have a feeling that they are going to make everyone feel strong.

I wonder how the power meter works. Hopefully it doesn't make him too OP.

Someone caught the fact that Sakurai did flash forward the charge video, so it took 200% to get full charge for instant ko.

The more I watch the trailer the more I want Doc Louis's commentary in-game

which won't happen

which sucks

...

(╯︵╰,)
Actually wouldn't be surprised if it was in-game because Pokemon Trainer yelled out random stuff too. Plus Little Mac is mostly mute in the games.

Oh I thought his commentary was going to be in. I wish it could at least be turned on/off. Reminds me of the Pokemon Stadium announcer.

Honestly, I didn't think of this comparison originally but the move isn't so bad when you compare it to, say, Jigglypuff's Rest from Melee. The precedent for OHKOs already exists, in that sense (even if Jiggs' Rest isn't a real OHKO, it's about as close to one as can be). Now you have to hope that if Jigglypuff does make a return (which I don't see why not) that they make the Rest like Smash 64/Melee again and not the gimped Brawl version lol.

It would be seriously fucked up if they gave Mac this OHKO move but then kept Jigglypuff's Rest the same as Brawl. Totally ass backwards lol.

He looks amazing, really.
Amazing that the fandom are really shipping Little MacxSamus so fast! lol

Those heathens, don't they realize Little Mac X Wii Fit Trainer is the OTP?
Even being taller and in a suit of armor Samus can't keep up with that boy - meanwhile, Trainer challenges him like even Doc Louis can't.

He doesn't even look OP. Most OP characters has a great air game. It makes it hard to knock off the edge. Don says even in the trailer that Mac's air game sucks. It doesn't appear he can control his fall from his Up+B and I haven't seen an air dash move yet.

I approve of this fanfic. A fitting match.

We really don't know if Doc's commentary makes it out of the trailer. May be in. May not be in. User above you was just spewing FUD

So gonna happen in the next BitF.

I agree. His comments so far have been very encouraging. He seems to have a clear goal in mind for each character for making them fun to play with. I expect/hope that every character will have their own version of the Falcon Knee (so to speak).

At the moment, I think the best implementation for Doc Louis would be as Little Mac's "voice." Since Mac himself isn't one to talk, Louis could chime in with quips here and there. Not as frequent as the trailer, mind you, but the equivalent of Mario's "yahoo!" and Link's "hyah!"

It would be a great way to represent the coach-trainee relationship in a non-visual way. (Although I certainly wouldn't mind Doc Louis popping up in the background, Pokémon Trainer-style!)

I'm super stoked!

But one of those times wish Nintendo was more pro-active

Would have been awesome to have Punch-Out land on the Virtual Console at the same time for a cheaper price with this announcement to get people to try it.
