in FF -> Extras -> Greasmonkey -> click the second option from above (should be something like 'manage userscripts' in the english version) -> select the neogaf_live_thread script left -> in the left bottom corner click 'edit' -> search for notepad.exe (it's in your C:\Windows\system32\ -folder) -> search for the part below and change to bold part

I would advise against doing this. I found that when it was <1 minute it would often return nothing and if the server is down (like a 500 error) it actually makes your updates slower because the script doubles the next timer if nothing comes back.

I did put a button in at the bottom of the page if you're impatient and you want want to update immediately. Use that.

I'm not sure how Chrome goes about installing extension updates (I think it's automatic) but if you install the extension again you should see it

likewise, if you're using the gm script just install it again if you want the icon at the bottom (it's also at the top)

Just wanted to say thanks for this! It's pretty awesome for when I'm at work and not logged in. I can just open up several tabs and let them refresh with this. Makes it a hell of a lot easier to track new posts when not logged in while GAF has the stupid Marked as Read bug.

It doesn't do the same thing. It just refreshes the page. This adds on new posts without you having to go to the next page plus lets you close previous pages whenever you want.

For example, you can enter a new thread with only one page, turn this on.. then it refreshes and checks for new posts then adds them onto the end of the previous posts. Once it reaches the next page it puts an X button to allow you to close the previous page if you want. Or, you can just let it keep going and have it all on one page.

People are going to be F5'ing like crazy and there's not much anyone can do about that. This isn't designed to encourage that, just control it a bit and make the experience of using gaf a little more pleasant when things like E3 are happening.

It runs as a content script and doesn't maintain a state. I can't do anything about this.

I would recommend that if you're going to reply to a post, the best thing to do is open that link in a new tab then close it and go back to the thread when you're done. Your post will show up in the next update.

I tested it a little on 10.53 and it seemed to work.

If you run into any problems on Firefox you can always install the older revision (or just don't upgrade, nothing new was added)

The 17 second wait is meh. Say I click update and there are no new posts after 2 seconds. I have to wait 15 seconds to click it again. I could just hit F5 instead right? Well.. the extension adds succeeding posts/pages to whatever page you start out on. If I click reload it reloads that old page I started on. I'd have to manually type in the latest page.

Nothing will beat F5 spam for super fast checks, I would say this is best for when you are hopping between watching a stream or tv, and checking threads, you can just turn to the pc and scroll over the new replies and then watch tv again, works well for that stuff.

This wasn't designed to spam. That's the reason why there's a timer and a minimum 15 second wait between requests. I'm not going to change this.

it can't change the URL in your address bar. These scripts don't have that sort of access (for obvious reasons)

I thought this might be a problem for some people so that's why there's a page spacer added. It provides a link to the current page the script is loading so that you can find quickly if you want to go to it.

There's nothing I can do about this. I know it's annoying.
