Lollipop Chainsaw Screenshots (Grasshopper, PS3/360)

It's nice to see they didn't just steal the Simple 2000 naming convention.

Now hopefully the game will be good dumb fun like Onechanbara. Unfortunately I haven't played a fun game by these guys so I'm not counting on it. :|

San Romero Knights?

I guess we're getting another west coast locale.
Perhaps there will be mention of Santa Destroy at some point in the game? Maybe there will be a visit there? Oh man, I want this to do a NMH cameo segment so bad, hahaha!

I am interested. I will probably have to get it from Amazon depending on the box art. haha.

Not looking forward to the "head" sidekick which will provide comic relief, most likely. :-(

Well she's a cheerleader, what else is she going to wear?

I'm tired of this kind of protagonist -a naked witch, a cheerleader, Catherine- or characters -very few games have strong and not clichéed female characters-, that's all.
Suda is trying to promote No More Heroes on PS3 with these stuffs as well.

1. Zombies first appear in Juliet's school on her 18th birthday. Don't worry -- it's totally okay to take a peek!

2. Juliet is a cheerleader at her school.

3. Juliet's school, San Romero Highschool, is located on the West Coast (that would be of America, I believe) and is the largest school in the region.

4. Juliet's chainsaw is full of pink because pink is her favorite color.

5. By reaching certain conditions you can make Juliet's chainsaw power up, gaining new skills.)

I like it... completely crazy just like only Japanese devs can make it.
Nice to see the subtle cel-shading, too (or how is it called when the contours are drawn, but the shadows are not flat ?)

If you're thinking of Bayonetta, I would consider her a strong and not clichéed female character.
By the way the screenshot above with the hearts and pink mist reminded me of Bayonetta's style. :)

Is it just me, or is there like a miniature tie on his neckbrace thing? Perhaps a father figure? Maybe just an older or more professional individual than the lady? Maybe he's her coach, and she's trying to rescue his body?

I read that as crotch for a moment and I was confused.

Suda wanted to steal more ideas from D3 than just Onechanbara, and decided to throw some Dead Head Fred in there as well.

I remember when I found this crap edgy, clever or original. Ya know, back when "craaaaaaaaaazy random japanese entertainment" might have been considered actually edgy, clever or original.

A handful of people in this thread just aren't getting enough fun out of life.

Seriously. Reading through this thread, it seems as if some people can only enjoy super serious games, or a game released with a ridiculous, juvenile premise will shatter the foundations of game development.

It looks fun.

And Suda's games always have a silly grindhouse vibe to me. All in good fun.
