Tickets website looks fairly busy.

I can't really justify going down to London for a couple of hours in the Olympic Stadium.

Trust me its worth it, been to many big footy matches, never had a stadium experience like this one. The scare stories of security, and big queues for trains and to get into park/stadium never happened to me, just dont try to go to the Mac Ds or the Megastore when there are loads of people about.

I should also mention its a 3 hour train journey. For about 2 and a half hours of athletics heats.

Sanya Richard Ross is probably one of the nicest athletes. GB needs to give her citizenship.

Well on the BBC the other day they had a chunk of Beijing track and a chunk of London track. The Beijing track had square rubber things on the bottom and the London one hexagon thingies which meant energy could be transferred better in a non-linear manner.

Or something.

This article talks about how the designers tried to maximise the track to produce fast times.

Having a stiff track isn't good, you want it to be elastic so it is pushed down by the athletes feet so it can then push the foot upwards propelling the athlete forward.

Cheers guys.

Well its up to you, but I left home at 6 ish this morning and was in the stadium just after 8, didnt start till 10, but time went fast. Found my new favourite Job, driving the remote control minis with the Discus on the top, that look fun, just need to add ramps lol.

All those new World Records in swimming, why not many at all on the track? Some even seem to be getting worse.

fluctuation in conditions like wind etc effect track more as mentioned.

then there's lots of athletics WR's obviously from dopers from done in the eighties before out of competition tests and better tests - basically all the women's sprint records for example, as steroid use helps women more - and i read an article recently talking about how events like the long jump are being screwed these days compared to when the likes of lewis were around because the most talented athletes are going into sprinting as there's more money for being a good sprinter than the best long jumper. (edit here)

i don't know what saves swimming though, more technical elements in the strokes that can be improved by precise computer monitoring and faster suits maybe.
