He's been fantastic at every Olympic games he has worked with the BBC. I have always wondered why he has worked for the BBC rather than an Amercian network. I can't see the BBC paying him a ridiculous amount. Maybe the prestige of the BBC factors in.

Nah, he does do work for US networks as well, just like McEnroe. However, I think the BBC have his services for the premier events like the 100m and 200m, I hope they get him into the stadium before the 200m final because his commentary is very insightful.

That's what I'm thinking. BBC obviously got to him first and he enjoys the role and probably has more freedom than on an American network. Then there is a lot of mutual respect and appreciation between the BBC and Johnson, and with that comes loyalty.

His second 100 is faster because he is beginning it at an already running start.

He's been reporting for the BBC for years and years now. They wouldn't have let him go for these games.

The best anthems are the ones you enjoy signing at high voice IMO.

The Soviet/Russian anthem is great (that sining in The Hunt For Red October..lol). Italy is great too - it must be great to sign to. So bombastic.

Either that or he doesn't want to be forced to get his point across in 10 seconds he'd get inbetween the cheese string and pizza commercials.

Is the NBCOlympics.com web player not working for anyone else? I'm getting a black screen in Firefox and Chrome.
