Hmm, it just feels different when it's all happening 4 or 5 times an episode over the course of three weeks rather than multiple years.

Everything I wrote in my post happened in one episode. At the beginning of S2. :lol

If Ben doesn't drop the "YOU'RE MINE!" line to a cheerleader I quit watching this show.

Or better yet, "What if I told you that somewhere in this school there was a very large box.."

Nevermind that somehow, Sawyer pieced together that Christian is Jack's dad, at the end of season 1, and told him the story from the bar run in.
Probably my favorite scene in the series soo far, with this one at 2
S1 for Liifffee

Yeah.. and stop me if I'm wrong here.. we had a bit of buildup to that whole thing, didn't we? I mean, I don't remember it just all popping up out of nowhere. Either way even if it did, go back and look at the audio cues during Roses appearance it was like super intense.. I just don't think the coincidences are being handled as well as they have been.

And I said it before, I'm just not feeling as invested in the Alternate timeline characters. I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.

:lol

Then of course the kid's father walks in and we get the obligatory Ben beatdown of the season.

Interesting, according to DarkUFO a major spoiler regarding Ilana's importance to the island was supposed to be included in the episode. This was the most spoilt episode of the season so far with spoiled fans knowing pretty much everything going in and DarkUFO received info prior to airing that some scenes had been re-shot to counter the leaks. I wonder when the info will pop-up. Damn, it would have topped the episode off even more having a revelation like that (assuming it is as big as they say). You know spoilers are going too far when the show has to work around them :(

Speaking of Illana, seeing here mourning her team was actually a really cool moment. I liked her more post episode than when it started.

I think I know what it is.

I can see how it would have fit the episode. Funny that they actually changed it due to leaks :lol

It doesn't surprise me. They re-shot the ending to season 6 of 24 when the real ending
Tony Almeida appears
leaked onto the net. They pretty much just delayed the unveiling until the premier of Season 7 though.

Still pisses me off to this day.

I had the weirdest dream. People were discussing spoilers in this thread, and not the spoiler thread linked in the OP.

Then I woke up and watched some Yo Gabba Gabba. I hope they get Jorge Garcia on one day.

Oh.

In that case, Epcott, there is no connection between Hanso and Widmore. Where did you get that idea?

:lol Well, these are probably just coincidences, but:

  1. According to the novel Bad Twin, East 57th Street in New York City is where Widmore Corporation's offices are, which is the same location The Hanso Foundation's offices reside.
  2. Widmore could be a decedent from someone on the Black Rock (since the Others/Natives/Hostiles are possibly a mixture of past castaways and decedents from the Black Rock themselves), Alvar is a decedent from someone from the Black Rock as well. I'm guessing Charles is since he is seen in the Constant buying it's ledger (which doesn't prove anything and he could just be a collector of antiques). He also owns a painting of the ship in his home.
  3. Widmore is (was) the leader of the Others. Magnus Hanso was the ship captain, for all we know, being in charge of the others would be fitting for a decedent of the ship's captain.

The thing is... I don't know if there is or isn't a physical or blood connection between the two, I really don't want to speculate on it too much...

I just hope that after years of LOST's ARG, it'd be nice to have some overlap in prime-time, you know, for added closure. That includes the whole Hanso story summed in current events, in something other than youtube videos and a wiki, you know?

I had to share this because it fucking killed me, here's from an MSN chat I was having with a friend who also watches:

"I watched this episode with a cat in my lap the entire time, and when that happened (the cave) I was like "Ah ha... Smockes secret volcanic lair...*strokes cat*" just about 10 secs later something happened on-screen that startled it slightly, and this was just as Smocke crossed out Lockes name... and I was just like WHEN MR. BIGGLESWORTH GETS UPSET, people die."

someone in the thread mentioned that they disliked that Sawyer instantly recognized Locke wasn't Locke...but they're initial few lines of dialogue were literally:

"I thought you were dead"
"I am!"

...I'd be a little disappointed in Sawyer if he didn't suspect something was amiss at that point :lol

Not to mention that Sawyer is a damn con artist. :lol His entire life has revolved around deceitfulness.

I wonder if he was pissed, or impressed at the end of the episode when MIB tells him that Jacob basically set up Sawyer in the Longest Con ever just to get to the Island :lol

  1. Bad Twin ain't canon.

[*]Widmore could be a decedent from someone on the Black Rock (since the Others/Natives/Hostiles are possibly a mixture of past castaways and decedents from the Black Rock themselves), Alvar is a decedent from someone from the Black Rock as well. I'm guessing Charles is since he is seen in the Constant buying it's ledger (which doesn't prove anything and he could just be a collector of antiques). I figured that Widmore buying the Black Rock ledger was part of his plan to find the island again (if Hanso used it to find the island himself, then maybe Widmore figured the same would work for him). Plus, Widmore probably knows about the Black Rock since he lived on the island for decades.

I just hope that after years of LOST's ARG, it'd be nice to have some overlap in prime-time, you know, for added closure. That includes the whole Hanso story summed in current events, in something other than youtube videos and a wiki, you know?

Well the reason that stuff is kept to the ARG is because it doesn't overlap with the show. Yeah it answers some questions raised in the show, but it's so far detached from the characters and what they've dealt with the past six years. People are complaining about answers being shoehorned in already, taking time to address a bunch of fringe elements (Hanso, Valenzetti equation, etc.) would be extremely forced and out of place.

To please Stuburns they should have had a scene that goes something like:

Sawyer: I thought you were dead.
Locke: I am.
Sawyer: But you look and talk exactly like Locke.
Locke: I know.

(lengthy pause)

Sawyer: But then how are you not Locke?
Locke: I'm just not.
Sawyer: Man, this island is weird.
Locke: I know.

Is it just me or is Flocke actually gathering all the candidates to eliminate them in order for him to be the protector of the Island? I mean all the names were crossed off, signifying that they were dead, thus he is getting closer to the position?

This would explain the exchange in S5: they come, they fight, they corrupt - they cannot be protectors of the Island. MIB thinks he can do the job ("You're trying to prove me wrong"), so if you look at the spectrum you have Jacob - Candidates (the people Jacob has touched and brought to the Island, effectively blocking MiB's advances to leadership) - MiB. MiB is almost rubbing it in Jacob's face like "You bring all these people here to take over and it never works, just give me the job."

For some reason this was painfully obvious to me but I haven't seen anyone else discuss it.

Pretty sure their were names crossed out, that weren't dead.

I know what it is and while its not major (doesn't reveal where the season is going at all), it is a significant tidbit that justifies some of her actions...I think they will reveal it, because it'll take away from her character if they don't.

Has anyone got a GIF of that smokemonster camera that was at the start of the episode?

That was awesome seeing his point of view as he moved around the island.

(-_-) See... and my friends wonder why I don't read books and comics that expand a franchise, or bother with ARGs anymore. This makes me even more curious of the Richard centric episode.

Also... this is the first time I've seen Richard look like he nearly shat his pants. When he waited for Flock to leave and went over to Sawyer, I swear I couldn't stop laughing. He looked very man-handled/traumatized.

I really can't wait for that Richard episode! :D

Btw dunno if this has been said, but that kid looks one hell of a lot like Jacob. Maybe it's Jacob as a kid or Jacob's kid or something? :S

Does anyone know why they would respond to a spoiler leak by withholding the spoiled information until a later episode? It seems like once the cat's out of the bag, they might as well get it out as soon as possible and move on.

Well, and this is what I find interesting, the spoiler never specified that it would be mentioned in this episode, or rather it was never explicitly stated. So, if I had to guess, the next time we see Illana it'll be revealed.

Since I doubt they would introduce a new character in the guise of a small kid this late in the show, I have to assume it's either Jacob or Aaron, leaving open the possibility that they are one and the same.

If they introduce some new overlord type character who bosses around both MIB and Jacob, then he better be the most badass-looking motherfucker ever.
