The numbers appearing everywhere is just a motif. Expecting every appearance of the numbers in the show to tie into something and be explained will only lead to disappointment. Most of them don't have any greater meaning, Jacob and MIB didn't travel around adjusting stuff just so the numbers could appear everywhere. They're just there.

I'm sure they didn't have the meaning of the numbers in mind from the start, but the reveal of what they mean doesn't mean it suddenly doesn't make sense for them to pop up all over the place.
I'm fairly sure the significance of the numbers goes above even Jacob himself, so I believe you are right.

However I would be willing to bet that there will be a lot more about the numbers than what Lindelcuse are hinting at. They are probably just tempering expectations down to hide that fact.

Hahaha, first time I've been avatar quoted.

Loooove your avatar, by the way
Thanks, I loved this shot, really stood out in the show tuesday.

I don't think the Candidates is an answer for the numbers, just another coincidence (and Kate being 51 kinda fucks it up anyways). i don't think we really need an answer anymore after this though, it's a heavy enough coincidence to say that destiny had picked them out because it picked these people out.

Eh, I'm the only person I've ever met who feels this way. Return of the king seems to get way more love.

And I can see why, just as I can see why Season 1 are so many people's favorite season. But tin both cases the differences are mostly due to the tone and pacing of the narrative as opposed to any sudden deficiencies in quality. The Shire>>>Rivendell journey is supposed to evoke a different response the final push to Mordor. The same thing, for the most part, applies to LOST.

It's kind of weird how little "finality" these character episodes seem to have. Kate especially, Jack sorta, and john Locke, well not really, but that's because he's dead. Like, jack's on-island stuff makes it feel as if he's just getting started. Kate, in both world, seemed to be just getting started. Kind of a weird tone for the final season.

Darlton want to make sure they have as many questions to ignore in June as possible.

fuuuuuuuuu @ the Sundown sneak peak. I mean I, and a few others here had thrown out a particular theory, I know I was partly joking but wtf..wtf.. mind possibly blown.

I'll do everyone a favor and refrain from posting the link here. But search "Sundown sneak peak" on youtube and it will come up. It's only a 40 second clip, but the last part could hint at a big reveal down the line. Hope they wouldn't make it that obvious, though.

Eh, just watched it...

Was kind of nothing...just more talky talk.

Just watched that "sneak peek."
The LA X timeline seems to continue its happily-ever-after streak. Sayid and Nadia act like they just saw each other a week ago or something, not long lost loves.

This reality's too good to be true, it's weird seeing so many positive resolutions... they're gonna end up getting royally fucked aren't they? :lol

Also, the second promo for 6x06 is out as well. Has some awesome snippets of extra footage.

Clearly I watched the wrong one :lol

I think we watched different videos. The one I'm talking about was on Island.

you don't think the whole
scale
thing could be a clue given what what we saw in The Substitute? Could be a just a metaphor or red herring..could be more.

Which theory was that?

That
MIB/Smokey was also Jacob, just the "dark half", a splitting of consciousness of sorts, which is why we've yet to get his name.
. Again not something I fully buy into....yet. That's some Dragonball Z shit :lol

if you scroll down and look at the squares it's emphasizing the constant episode.

is this random or do they want us to think about it?

don't fuck with me abc. that was desmond's awesome episode and i want him to be a main key this season.
They did explicitly say they were gonna answer some mysteries from that episode, but I don't really get it since there weren't exactly a lot of "need answers" mysteries stemming from that episode.

I hope they don't do a switcheroo with MiB and Jacob, making Jacob the bad guy.

A switcheroo would make MIB the "Bad guy". As it stands now, Jacob is responsible for a lot more death and suffering.

well im gonna rewatch it then

Well that doesn't make him a bad guy, just incompetent. MiB can still be the bad guy and have less body count. I'm talking about the moral standings and intentions.

I could give many examples of this in the real world but i don't want the discussion to head in that direction...

The greater good! Gotta crack a few [hundred] eggs to make The Omelet of the Forever.

That's why I put bad guy in quotations. I wouldn't classify either as strictly good or evil at this point, it sort of depends on your perspective. "It's all relative" as a wiseman (the BOSS) once said. From mine Jacob is certainly rates higher on the asshole scale.

They didn't say they'd solve any mysteries from that episode. They said that episode is important because it provides certain clues for Season 6. Maybe the time jumping aspect will show up again.

It's more conscious jumping.

I disagree with your thoughts on Jacob, but I can at least understand where you're coming from. How you can believe MIB is not as much of or more of an asshole is beyond me though.

If responsibility for death and suffering from incompetence or inaction counts as being a bad guy, then Jack is the #1 villain on Lost. :lol

:lol Solo tried to tell us.

And Jack is Jacob's golden boy! You win this round, Nameless...

It has certain clues for S6?

The constant:
-black rock cameo
-conscious jumping in a single timeline
-constants
-relative time perception
-no side effects when leaving a certain way

I haven't seen smokey do much lately aside from kill his supposed oppressor and some people who were gonna kill him.

I feel like everyone is taking jacob's alignment for granted. I've only seen evidence of him ruining/ending lives for reasons they haven't explained.

It reminds me of the old days whe people used to always say that ben was a liar, but in reality... he wasn't.
It seems to me that the right music and lighting can convince anyone that a character is good or evil.

I don't think the 3rd person is Aaron, and it's definitely not Jacob. It's probably some random Egyptian kid who is in charge of the island. Just does whatever the hell he wants on it.
