Doesn't LOST film in Hawaii? What will this Tsunami mean for the show?

They are towards the tail end of filming right now. It just means that filming will wrap up later than planned.

So, the weight will probably fall on Lindelcuse to edit all of the remaining episodes faster.

Edit: Apparently nothing's going to happen. So there.

Kinda feel bad about how American Losties just feel defeated after that Health care thing :(

oh well! We can't dwell on our grief forever!Let the celebrations commence...

Canada is the new America, but with butcher women and health care.

How big is The World Cup in the US?
Do they put a hold on tvshows for it too?

You guys all suck. The once-every-four-years (be it summer or winter games, both are equally awesome) clash of the best atheletes in the world > any scripted TV show.

Yeah but this is WINTER Olympics.

4 year events in order of awesome:
World Cup
Euro Cup
Olympics

Winter Olympics doesn't even make it in this list!

They show the World Cup on TV?

none of the major networks carry it. It is basically relegated to various sports-only channels.

Honestly, I couldn't care less if they cancelled it from now until forever. Actually, I hope that happens so my shows would stop getting preempted.

715.1 million viewers just in Europe and Asia alone...on ONE MATCH.
The World Cup is where the ENTIRE World comes together. Fucking SMH that the US doesn't show it.

Not as big as the Olympics. The last world cup had most of its games on ESPN, with a few on ABC. If I remember, US matches and the world cup final were on ABC.

There wasn't that much of an opportunity to interrrupt shows since they were on in the summer.

Man, going up the street and seeing flags everywhere. And turning on the TV to see countries compete and intimidate each other is a great feeling. One thing the world's united on, is the World Cup. Wish the US took part :(

again, s'ing my f'ing head.

sooooreee loooooserrrrss.

I remember ragging on my friends for not caring about it, which is funny because they are doing that same thing to me about olympics hockey.

They're like crazy man. You should stop being friends with them immediately.

Yeah, no one's safe from it. TV anchors, even politicians. It's the greatest thing ever.
Flags of countries everywhere at college, people going crazy in football uniforms and face painting and car decorations. All over the world. Shit is crazy.

Atleast we know what Ferris Bueller's Day off is!

Jibril, you need to visit "the world" during the World Cup before such claims. North America by and large doesnt give a toss. Its aired, but its just kind of there.

I thought they made it pretty clear that the timeline split before the plane crash in LA X. Shannon wasn't on the plane, Desmond was, Hurley proclaimed himself the luckiest guy in the world.

Jack didn't have a son in the original timeline. The timelines split before the plane crash even happened.

They hammered it in even further in this episode by having Jack say, "I'd make a terrible dad," as if the writers were saying, "No, he doesn't have a son that we've been hiding for five years. This is a difference between the timelines."

I'm getting the impression that the timeline split (whenever it was) before the crash is just a free pass for the writers to add all kinds of shit. "This is a completely different timeline so we get to do whatever we want!"

Maybe Roussou is David's fucking step mom. Can't hold the writers accountable because.....it's a completely different timeline.

I was actually pretty impressed with the coverage of the WC 06 and Euro 08.

All the group games are on ESPN or ESPN2 (or univision). Then ABC will show some of the bigger games that occur on the weekends.

The ratings for the WC final were actually pretty good.

Kinda, yeah, but it's not like it's all for nothing.

Even though we don't yet know the literal impact the other timeline has on the story, it still provides a good opportunity to fully explore (and in a way, resolve) certain arching themes and character-specific issues that we've become familiar with for the past few seasons.

That's kinda the point though...

Anyone who says the World Cup isn't big in the US must not think the NBA Finals or the World Series are big either, because the 2006 World Cup final got comparable ratings to the average NBA Finals game and World Series game from that year. And it's much much bigger than freaking ice hockey, that's for sure.
Everything else in the US is dwarfed by the Super Bowl, of course.

So you're saying ABC is "various sports-only channels" and not a major network? Because ABC has aired the World Cup since 1994...

if she returns before the finale it'd be a cameo (similar to hurley&rose/john) i'd think. and then i could see her with everyone else in the last few multi-char eps. but, then again, there's always a claire/kate type longer combination.

Hours after a massive 8.8 earthquake hit Chile, the residents of Oahu, Hawaii, have been bracing for a predicted tsunami, and the stars of Lost, who live and work on the island, are among them.

We've just heard from star Daniel Dae Kim—whose trip to Los Angeles today for a fan event was derailed because of the tsunami warning—and also Lost boss Damon Lindelof, and here is the good news they shared...

"All our cast and crew is accounted for and safely away from coastal areas," Damon tells me this afternoon. "Jorge Garcia continues to thrash me in Scrabble via iPhone from Ken Leung's house. Our entire team in Hawaii appreciates all the positive energy being sent their way."

Daniel decided not to fly to Los Angeles this morning for tonight's Paley Festival fan event to stay with his family druing the tsunami warning. "My family and I are doing fine," Daniel told me less than an hour ago. "We've moved to high ground and are staying with friends who generously opened their home to us. All that's left to do is wait. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who sends their thoughts and good wishes."

According to the show's ABC rep, the other cast members expected at tonight's Paley event—Michael Emerson, Terry O'Quinn, Nestor Carbonell and Zulheika Robinson—are already in Los Angeles, so Daniel is the only cast member whose plans have changed because of the tsunami warning. The rest of the cast is still in Hawaii and were unable to attend tonight's event because they were working on Lost, according to a rep for the show.

Meanwhile, Modern Family boss Steve Levitan told me last night that the cast was planning to fly to Hawaii to shoot a family vacation episode within the next 2 weeks. No word yet from ABC on whether the expected tsunami might change those plans.

Bolded sounds awesome.

In order of right to left:
First thing I can make out is an H (حـ‎ )
Second letter looks like a Sh/Th (ـشـ‎)
Third is hard looks like an M (ـمـ‎)
the last one looks like another M ( ـم )

Makes a total of Hasham/Hatham or Hashmem.
I'd go with Hasham and ignore the first M (lol) since that's a famous name.
I'd say it's يعقوب 673
the writing is shit anyways so I wouldn't really read into it much.

Just saw a commercial for some movie starring Claire and the vaginaphobe from Twilight. There was some serious cognitive dissonance going on, I couldn't accept that she was speaking without that ridiculous, horrible, obviously fake accent. This doesn't bode well for any post-Lost projects from any stars of the show, I've officially lost all ability to differentiate character from actor, no matter how unbelievable the portrayal.

So why did someone have to kill John Locke's father?

There's something about being a leader of The Others and patricide. Ben killed his dad, Locke was supposed to kill his dad, and I'm guessing the blood on MiB's mystery-kids hands is his father's blood.

Nah, that was Ben's way of embarrassing John.

Again, I'd be very worried if I was either of Lindelcuse's fathers.
