none of the major networks carry it. It is basically relegated to various sports-only channels.
Not as big as the Olympics. The last world cup had most of its games on ESPN, with a few on ABC. If I remember, US matches and the world cup final were on ABC.Jibril said:How big is The World Cup in the US?

Jibril said:Yeah but this is WINTER Olympics.
4 year events in order of awesome:

Euro Cup
Olympics
Winter Olympics doesn't even make it in this list!

There wasn't that much of an opportunity to interrrupt shows since they were on in the summer.
I remember ragging on my friends for not caring about it, which is funny because they are doing that same thing to me about olympics hockey.Jibril said:Man, going up the street and seeing flags everywhere. Canada is the new America, but with butcher women and health care.
Solo said:Jibril, you need to visit "the world" during the World Cup before such claims. North America by and large doesnt give a toss. Its aired, but its just kind of there.
KevinCow said:I thought they made it pretty clear that the timeline split before the plane crash in LA X. Shannon wasn't on the plane, Desmond was, Hurley proclaimed himself the luckiest guy in the world.
Jack didn't have a son in the original timeline. The timelines split before the plane crash even happened.
They hammered it in even further in this episode by having Jack say, "I'd make a terrible dad," as if the writers were saying, "No, he doesn't have a son that we've been hiding for five years. This is a difference between the timelines."

Kinda, yeah, but it's not like it's all for nothing.MIMIC said:I'm getting the impression that the timeline split (whenever it was) before the crash is just a free pass for the writers to add all kinds of shit. "This is a completely different timeline so we get to do whatever we want!"
Maybe Roussou is David's fucking step mom. Can't hold the writers accountable because.....it's a completely different timeline.

E!Online said:Hours after a massive 8.8 earthquake hit Chile, the residents of Oahu, Hawaii, have been bracing for a predicted tsunami, and the stars of Lost, who live and work on the island, are among them.
We've just heard from star Daniel Dae Kimwhose trip to Los Angeles today for a fan event was derailed because of the tsunami warningand also Lost boss Damon Lindelof, and here is the good news they shared...
"All our cast and crew is accounted for and safely away from coastal areas," Damon tells me this afternoon. "Jorge Garcia continues to thrash me in Scrabble via iPhone from Ken Leung's house. Our entire team in Hawaii appreciates all the positive energy being sent their way."
Daniel decided not to fly to Los Angeles this morning for tonight's Paley Festival fan event to stay with his family druing the tsunami warning. "My family and I are doing fine," Daniel told me less than an hour ago. "We've moved to high ground and are staying with friends who generously opened their home to us. All that's left to do is wait. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who sends their thoughts and good wishes."
According to the show's ABC rep, the other cast members expected at tonight's Paley eventMichael Emerson, Terry O'Quinn, Nestor Carbonell and Zulheika Robinsonare already in Los Angeles, so Daniel is the only cast member whose plans have changed because of the tsunami warning. The rest of the cast is still in Hawaii and were unable to attend tonight's event because they were working on Lost, according to a rep for the show.
Meanwhile, Modern Family boss Steve Levitan told me last night that the cast was planning to fly to Hawaii to shoot a family vacation episode within the next 2 weeks. No word yet from ABC on whether the expected tsunami might change those plans.

I'd go with Hasham and ignore the first M (lol) since that's a famous name.
