TheGreatDave said:I'll always come back to "John Locke is dead". If the whole point of the sideways is just to magically send the mind of John X to the island, I can't be anything but disappointed. But you know, I'm aware how tired me talking about it probably is![]()
brandonh83 said:The sources ratings and the cast and crew have been incredibly livid about the finale. Michael Emerson said that it was different than he thought it would be but that it gets better and better for him each passing day.
I certainly think the finale will be amazing in its own way. If you're watching for mind-bending secrets and other-worldly, brilliant, deep explanations for everything you might walk away disappointed. If you love the character arcs and the emotion and desire a resolution as well as getting a few healthy morsels of information/answers you're likely to shit the pants.

TheGreatDave said:Hurley X is remembering the memories of Hurley. His consciousness has not travelled to Hurley's mind. Neither has it gone the other way. It's not like The Constant or Happily Ever After, as we know Desmond is the exception to the rules and the one guy for whom that sort of thing is expected. Nothing about Hurley X's experience indicates that CONSCIOUSNESS (not memories, consciousness) can travel to another timeline. And if it COULD, Locke is dead! His body is in the ground! Smokey may take one some acquired personality traits, but that is a hell of a jump to make to "John Locke is residing somewhere in the Smoke Monster's mind", even for a show like Lost.

We'll see. I would find it a very unsatisfying conclusion to the show, personally.

Besides, I'm not working out of faith here. Yes, I've been wanting Locke to return and save the day in a way, but this season has undoubtedly given me backup in this.

Welcome. The punch near the Mr Clucks catering has drugs that let you know everything.

bud said:i think if we judge characters based on the quality of their episodes, then desmond's pretty much flawless.
is this a sports thing?Solo said:Jughead is far from flawless.
Ben is the ONLY cast member batting 1.000. Locke is second at .900.
He's never coming back, though! I think Steve will though.Nameless said:Scott would disapprove..
Nameless said:Keep the faith. Tommorow night after Locke has become the new Jack and Solo has replaced duckroll as mod as agreed, Locke-GAF will rule this place. Those who believed will reap the benefits. Heretics on the other hand will all be given avatars simply of the letters "JL" and a tag to go along with it. They shall be marked, Scarlett Letter style.

Ben has hits on The Man Behind The Curtain, The Shape Of Things To Come, Dead Is Dead, and Dr. Linus. He is batting 4/4, or, 1.000.
Locke has hits on Walkabout, Deus Ex Machina, Orientation, Lockdown, The Man From Tallahassee, The Brig, Cabin Fever, The Life And Death Of Jeremy Bentham, and The Subsitute. He has a strikeout with Further Insructions. He is batting 9/10, or, .900.
Desmond is batting in my eyes 5/6, or .833.

Never watched it again. But they have been dragging it on, from the things I've heard it seems like they just make it up as they go along. Last thing I read a couple of days ago...Locke was made of smoke....?
An awesome idea in theory, but 8:15 in what time zone? US Eastern?Nameless said:A cheesy suggestion but I make it anyway..How about putting the finale thread up at 8:15 tonight?
Solo said:I want to be uplifted, and have the show end on a hopeful note. They've been through hell for 6 seasons. Now its time for everyone to be at peace.
Put it up at 5:23big ander said:An awesome idea in theory, but 8:15 in what time zone? US Eastern?
I agree Solo, the final scene should be uplifting but bittersweet.
I want it to be happy overall, but I've accepted that people will die. There will be depression. But we can hope that there's some sort of loophole where they can all have some sort of happy ending.
