VALIS said::lol How is this a suitable answer to anyone? I think I'm gonna write me a series of novels with all these mysterious and convoluted plot points, and then in interviews outside of the work I'm gonna say that answers to my mysterious and convoluted plot points are never coming and you're on the wrong track if you're looking for them. What a sweet gig.
Have you seen the clip? He speaks to a dog when no one is there.TheBranca18 said:MIB didn't need to fool the dog at all. Stop making up stuff as you go along. It was probably easiest for him, just like it was easiest to appear as John Locke after he died.
I guess I didn't articulate that well, what I meant was he actually takes on the personality of the 'host' to some extent. Not that he pretends. That would go some way to explaining why he lied to a dog.Korey said:No, it's obviously supposed to be Jacob's brother, although your theory seems nice. Their goals are the same (to get off the island, etc).
The lesson is that some people who go into the golden cave you either have to be immune to electromagnetism, be Jacob, or you'll turn into a smoke monster.

Nice! Thank You. I'd love it without the watermarks but I guess it wouldn't be too hard to photoshop those out.Ceres said:Here you guys go:

Not high res (I'm working with what I could find online) but a lot better than the other one.
The version on my computer is 2048x2272 but tinypic resized to 1600.
Here's a news item about itAlucard said:Really? Hmm, I'm too lazy to do a search, but I heard from a Lost fanatic who followed the show religiously (and was disappointed with the lack of explanations at the end) who said that the 20 minutes was from the finale itself.
If anyone can confirm this, that would be cool.
DoctorWho said:So how does Lapidus explain the return of the Ajira flight to Air Traffic Control? Some of the people returning on that plane weren't even on it to begin. There's a whole shit storm that would happen on the mainland once Ajira returned. That would be interesting to see. :lol
TheGreatDave said:Ditch the recap, make the final episode 4 and a half hours.
That stuff's not important. What is important is what happens to everyone after they all die!DoctorWho said:So how does Lapidus explain the return of the Ajira flight to Air Traffic Control? It reminds me of Ben speaking to 'Jacob' when he turns the wheel despite apparently not believing Jacob was even in the cabin.

Zeliard said:The unfortunate thing is, between Evangeline Lilly's comments about the final shot of the series, combined with Lindelof's comments about the final shot of the series (in the TimesTalk, which Cuse then yelled at him about), I feel like I know exactly what will be in it (if not the circumstances).
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Zeliard said:By the way, the pseudo-science people who are pissed should also realize that the island's "magical power" basically is crazy electromagnetism. The show never really contradicted itself on that.
And we know this because Widmore and his team managed to apparently perfectly replicate it, since they tested it on Desmond. Desmond managed to widthstand Widmore's machine in the same way that he widthstood that magical electrified pool down in the cave. They are identical.
Now whether you want to buy that massive amounts of electromagnetic energy can cause the things it caused throughout the series, that's where one's capacity for suspension of disbelief comes into play (as well as how much you're willing to stretch the "pseudo-" prefix qualifier).
Byakuya769 said:Wow, so you're "explaining" shit you haven't seen.
:lol :lol :lol

Anyone know exactly what Lilly interview this is referring to, and what comments at the TimesTalk? I of course avoided all interviews before last night but now I'm curious.

Nameless said:But the kicker is that it wasn't just normal electromagnetism. It was "geologically unique". In S.O.S. the "healer" Bernard takes Rose to in Australia speaks of their being many special pockets of energy around the world. Each with different properties.
The island was perhaps big kahuna of all of them.

Until last season's finale I always thought it'd end with at Jack's eye again, but since then I thought we'd get a couple of 'our' characters at the beach speaking MiB/Jacob like.Zeliard said:I don't remember exactly which interview, but yeah, it was exactly as I expected and commented in that post. Both Lilly and Lindelof's comments alluded to the ending of the show basically featuring every character (that's why I said some might consider it a cop-out). I essentially knew that would happen, so I assumed that everyone would come together in the sideways and that would be ending. It's what ended up happening, but it didn't really take away from it.

Also, maybe it's the romantic in me, but I like to think Kate didn't have sex for the rest of her life and died holding a locket with Jack's picture on it ^_^.

You're working under the "each episode has to be awesome, but it's not the level of awesome that counts" I guess.

They don't have to lie to keep the island from Widmore anymore, so I guess they can tell the truth now.
Well it is about the characters!Korey said:That stuff's not important. What is important is what happens to everyone after they all die!
Byakuya769 said:nope nor did they explain the webisode of Christian telling Vincent to wake up his son after the original crash, since he has work to do (which was cannon).
making up shit as they went along.
Yep, telling the truth will sound something like this:Lonestar said:Though, there is an obvious problem with this, beyond the fact that They (O6) lied about it in the first place.
The problem is the same problem we have when trying to explain what's happened in Lost.
They think we're talking CrazyTalk.
