Oh shit, I just realized, so the Desmond in Jack's flashback is the Desmond from the future! So "lift it up" must mean something after all.

EDIT - Or not!

So, if Desmond is seeing "future" things, where as he's previously only seen snippets of the "past", does that mean that our Desmond, corporeal as he is, is from the future (At least past the death of Charlie)? Or, at least, has lived it already? Just as Desmond had a second chance to marry Penny, does he now have a chance to change life on the island? Or is he just privy to the course of the time stream/Universe/fate?

Wonderful episode.

And according to the teaser for next week
three of the big island mysteries will be answered
. Very interesting.

predictable.

Shut up.

Loved this episode. Desmond is such a great character, my favorite by a mile. Looks like we'll be getting answers to some of our questions in the next episode. Great start to the second half so far.

that would be a good twist at the end of the season or something. But I doubt this Desmond is a future Desmond because he is not trying to correct things. He is not saying "I remember this happening"

next week's episode is going to be good :D

That is what I was thinking also. Or maybe it is just simple as the blast from the hatch just knocked him out causing him to relieve his past, but now he really has the shinning to see the future.

When do we get to the part where Desmond asks how the woman is able to tell the future. Or who the **** she even is?

This episode had the best ending, such a nice twist and the old woman was an excellent touch. Who wrote this episode is damn good.

seriously?? it is just a freaking preview :lol

Just a preview?

They give away everything.

Like the greys anatomy commercial?

They show half the episode with the tagline "you wont believe the ending"

Yeah, I have no idea what will happen.

I usually hate flashbacks, but with Locke and Desmond they are always satisfying.

Longest flashback in a episode ever and it was ****in A+ great!

Regarding the episode.

So Desmond didnt travel through time and leave the island, he just saw flashes of his past and now the future?

Wow, best episode of Lost in a loooong time. I'm glad they kept the flashback close to what's happening on the island.
I like the Charlie character despite how whiny he can be and the way they overused his backstory. I hope they don't kill him. Plus he actually asked a sensible question about one of the mysteries!

Notice how he only talked about seeing Charlie die, the only character which he "ran into" in his past. Desmond never tried to stop Eko's inevitability because he probably didn't see the flash. Fate brought Charlie and Desmond together in the past, so maybe their's a connection between the two. I don't think Desmond can see it all, though he did mention, in advance, that Locke would give a speech about finding Kate/Jack/Sawyer.

That was a really good, well written episode.

Thoroughly enjoying season 3 so far.

yeah, Season 3>>> Season 2.

It is too bad this isn't translating in the ratings :(

ABC needs to find a way to lift the ratings, and fast!! If the tv ratings keeps slipping then the show will be in big trouble.

That was the best episode, IMO, in months. Maybe since the season 2 finale. Dunno. Quite liked it.

I still don't get how Desmond was "all knowing" when he met Jack in the stadium bleachers during Jack's flashback.

Holy shit, I forgot about that :O

Future Desmond Theory confirmed???

That's what I thought at the top of the page, but he jumped back to the island before that event took place. Unless he jumps back and forth...
