Meatpuppet said:Getting towards the end of Hong Kong, and I have to say its my least favorite level by far. I've had to brute force my way a lot of late with the rocket launcher, which is completely contrary to how I've been playing everything up to now. Kinda soured on the game a bit :/
One thing I noticed on my first playthrough that didn't really hamper my experience was that you can find a laser sight mod within the first five minutes of starting the game in an underground bunker area not far from where you start. The laser sight gives your pistol 100% accuracy regardless of skill level in pistols.plc268 said:My approach so far is to be stealthy and kill everybody possible. It helps that I maxed out my pistols... now it feels like a proper fps. It's a shame since I'm barely skating by on ammo, but that Dragon sword has pretty much replaced the pistol as my go to weapon.

- Hitting people from behind (I think either their back or the back of their head) is an instant silent takedown if you use the shock prod.RedSwirl said:I actually played the demo a while back and can only really say that stealth gameplay felt surprisingly similar to MGS3. Any tips for stealth players in Deus Ex? The only game I think I've played that's similar to this at all is System Shock 2.

- By the way, keep the shock prod if you have it. I threw it away for extra space about 2/3 of the way through the game and really regretted it.
- I know you said stealth, but tear gas grenades are very, very useful. I found out gassed people can get knocked out very easily by the riot prod when I have the melee strength aug on. It was very useful for taking out groups of people.
- The sniper rifle with maxed rifle skill can shoot out security cameras.
Max said:Robots are OP and I have no idea how to fight them. In the shipyard there are even giant mechs. Fuck this level.
Sinatar said:EMP grenades, LAM's, LAW's or just sneak past.
Mr_Zombie said:What weapons are worth keeping? Right now I'm atand my inventory is constantly cluttered :/ I have: a stealth pistol, sniper rifle, sawed-off shotgun, riot prod, dragon's tooth sword, scramble grenades, LAMs and plasma rifle. I'm trying to play stealthy, but, well, let's say I'm not good at it and sometimes I find it easier to just kill everyonethe shipyard (right after Hong Kong)![]()
My weapon skills are as follow:
- weapons: heavy - untrained
- weapons: pistol - trained
- weapons: rifle - trained
- weapons: low-tech: untrained (I one-hit kill with dragon's tooth sword anyway)
- weapons: demolition: untrained
Also, is there a mod or cheat to reskill?

abunai said:I dunno if this would particularly count, but it's a somewhat neatbug in the GOTY edition of Deus Ex: if you encounter an obstacle that requires more multitools/lockpicks than you have, start using the lockpick and then go into your inventory or whatever, then wait for the amount of time it would take to break the obstacle with it's required amount of tools. Exit the inventory and it'll be open while only using one tool.game breaking
I don't use this all the time during a playthrough but if I manage to get myself in a bad spot it's handy to know to help you along.
I found out my assault rifle had rockets.Sinatar said:EMP grenades, LAM's, LAW's or just sneak past.
WAT?coopolon said:You could always just use the console command to summon another lock pick.
sn00zer said:I love paying for a door code reloading then just inputting the code...

But that's cheating D:coopolon said:It just seems easier than exploiting the bug.
Max said:Guys I can't find the 5th weak point on the huge ship for the life of me and I refuse to look at a guide. Is it hidden somewhere?
Oh thanks for the reminder, I had completely disregarded that map since I found the 4 so easilycoopolon said:I think someone gives you a map with the weak points marked as an X on the map.

Last update was 2009. I'm gonna predict that it will never be finished.RedSwirl said:Is that done? And does it work with the DirectX 10 renderer?

My friend had the same thing (he was actually playing through the first mission without knowing any better). I forced him to fix it while I was over.(._.) said:Anybody know why the game is moving incredibly fast for me physically (in-game).
