LttP: DRIVECLUB (holy cow)

Well there goes that. First time I've legtimately seen that tweet, every single time I've seen someone's posting something was that tweet about a person specifically asking about OG Driveclub getting a Pro mode and Rushy responding to that.

oh well. That's sad. OG driveclub not getting one is understandable, but the VR version is a new release. You'd think Sony would want their own PSVR titles to be as impressive as they can be, but I guess not.

I mean, one is an incredibly popular and hugely successful game and the other isn't. Creating that patch for DC would still cost money with almost no chance at an increase in revenue. It's hard to greenlight something like that from a business perspective, though I'd love to see it.

Well they would do definitely get £349 from me for a new PS4 pro!

It's weird, but in all fairness, I thought DriveClubVR was lost months ago when EVO closed down. At least we're getting it, and with new content!

Haven't Sony got 2 guys patching Infamous for Pro, and just 1 upgrading Days Gone?

I don't see a reason why Sony can't add enhancements to the game later on without Evo's help, even if it's just a resolution bump and better AA. Hope is not lost.

DONT CRITICISE SONY! They have legitimate business decisions behind the lack of a Pro port for DriveClub. Dont you get it?!! It takes resources and stuff.

Or at least thats what the guys in Witcher 3 Pro thread told me.

Except it does take resources. You ps pro folks are nuts.

Outside weather effects (snow and rain) there is nothing remarkable in driveclub.

Maybe in your opinion?
I remember booting this game up after the weather patch. I'd got it free with my white PS4. After playing for a couple of hours I found the game difficult and it pissed me off. See the problem was I'd been playing Forza and the like too much. So I re -learned to play this game. Slowing down on corners and getting the turn for the corners right. It felt great once I started getting somewhere with the driving.
I've driven Suzuka,Brands Hatch and all the other tracks in Forza,PC and GT. They are all the same with different licks of paint. That's what I love about DC is that all the tracks are new. Makes a huge difference to the experience. Sense of speed is amazing. Weather and day night transition astounding. All the content and options made this a complete package. A PS Pro mode would be a good send

It's unfortunate but I'm not sure why this makes Sony idiots. Driveclub is a relatively old game that isn't that popular beyond the core fans.

This is true, but I feel they could do a small DC relaunch. DC will be getting a new version and 5 new tracks around the same timeframe Sony launches both the new PS4 and VR. It is an ideal game to show off a Pro mode and also a good point of return due to added content and launch of the VR edition.

This makes more sense to me than doing Infamous, for example. Furthermore, they could do a Pro mode PSN promotion if they have several games that feature this. Like with any platform, giving customers the perception that the new hardware is well supported is important, even though only a small percentage may be interested in actually buying DC. Given a resolution bump is not likely to be that resource intensive, I feel the (potential) benefit would be greater than the costs for Sony.

That city track totally reminded me of PGR.
Imagine if Evolution had made DC 2?

Thank god the crew will get another shot due to Codemasters. I hope it will be something similar, though a spiritual Motorstorm successor would be ace too.

Same.

Crazy but yeah I'd buy a PS4 Pro if DC was one of the games getting an update. About the only game I care about getting an update.

I hope they go back to their roots with some offroading. It HAS to have insane weather effects. Would love for them to create another racer that dethrones DC when it comes to graphics AND be on PC this time around.

A terrible shame that it wasn't ready for launch, if only it had been delayed. Miyamotos words of a delayed game possibly being good but a rushed game being ruined forever rung very true in this case.

Its an incredible game now and I love it yet it looks like the ship has sailed. Another great crime to also not get a pro patch, this could have been the perfect game to really show off the pros muscle.

But it was ready for launch, they did a beta test and everything.

It's not that it wasn't ready for launch , it's that the server issue they had couldn't be seen until launch.
A real shame

It was unfortunate. But also unfortunately, a lot of reviewers and the like dogged the handling as well. I was there day 1, praising the handling model as the best in the genre and saying the online shit wasn't bothering me since the handling was so good. It sucks that some people never could come to grips with the handling model.

Really, how? Being serious not mocking or nothing.

Codemasters picked up a portion (if not most/all) of Evolution Studios. Great considering Codemasters made the best sim this gen (Dirt Rally) and Evo made the best arcade racer this gen and last gen (ever actually).

Yes I'm a super fanboy of Evo

I love DC as well just not as much as PGR, though I felt another shot this gen they could easily surpass PGR.

Codemaster merging with EVO studios or people that have been on PGR/MSR. Next to id software aquiring the people they recently did from crytek and a few other places that makes me shit grin that's damn good news.

Oh i praised driveclub DAY ONE , so many reviewers didn't gave it a real chance. Many bashed it because it didn't control like NFS or forza.i was so angry.

The author of the initial Eurogamer review really pissed me off regarding that. So clueless.

Does anyone know if the VR version includes everything from the original release? And I'm assuming the VR version supports the same wheels?

I don't know about 'everything.' It will be a mix of old and new tracks, a new tour and new cars. The wheel assumption is safe.
