Bumping this thread because NeoGAF doesn't need a new LTTP thread every time someone picks up a game older than 6 months.
Anyhow, Path of Radiance:
I am a big Fire Emblem fan. I have completed 4 out of the 5 games that have made it to North America. as well as two that were Japanese only (the second SNES title, and first GBA title). For some reason though, I never got around to POR before now. I was taking a break from gaming when it debuted, and a series of circumstances has kept it sitting in my backlog for the last 2 years.
I started up the game last weekend, and holy crap am I addicted. When I'm at work I am constantly thinking about how I wish I could be at home playing. When I AM at home, I do my part to be a semi-responsible husband (help make dinner, eat and clean up, talk to the wife a little), and then spend the rest of my free time for the night glued to the TV. It's gotten so bad that I rush to get ready in the mornings just so I can squeeze in 20mins or so of game time between work.
I am currently on Chapter 13 or 14 (whichever chapter comes after the desert battle). I am finally at the stage where the majority of my characters are either freshly promoted or will be promoting soon (which is usually my favourite part of a FE game). I kind of wish I had played this game before Radiant Dawn, as the plot is completely spoiled, but it is nice to see where the characters in that game started.
A couple questions:
- Usually Fire Emblem games will tell you whether your character will get one or two attacks. This one seems not to. In fact, the amount of damage that I am told I will do is not always correct. Is there some option I have to turn on to see the expanded information?
- It there a way to see your weapon grade progression? Usually you can see how far your character is from getting their next rank in swords/bows/etc. I don't see that in this game.
